Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Hey Gill, you need to watch out - with all those explosions you'll have the anti-terrorist police camping on your doorstepgill216 wrote:At home I have water and but no washer, its just blown up. ........
I have no cooker, it decided to have a fire yesterday.
Seriously, though, that sounds like far too much bad luck to cope with in Christmas week - especially with no on-line deliveries likely this week

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
It gets worse- I blew up the hairdryer trying to defrost the freezer quickly about an hour ago
That should be it but who knows
Son is going to his girlfriends mum's for xmas (Ipswich- if they get there) I have keys and clear roads, I've done my food and drink shopping- he has a cooker and washer. Guess where I'm going tomorrow - and I'll be using his gas and electricity
Payback time. I'm cooking and washing everything in sight and then freezing and if I have no cooker then so what- trusty micro hasn't blown up----------------yet! and the hob still works!!!! Might even have an extortionately priced lunch out. Nah, I'm not the greatest fan of turkey. One year I had one with a deformed leg and it tasted rank and went in the bin. Good job I do a joint as well!
I'll do it all tomorrow and sit back with a glass of something in my hand for the rest of the season- and think of the rest of you.

Are you sure there isn't something wrong with your electricity supply if alll your appliances keep exploding?

That was a thought that occurred to me too...sometimes a power surge will do that.

Went out to try to get some shopping (sliding about by foot, still can't get out). On our way back my son and K's boyfriend got collared to push a car up a ridiculous hill*. K and I then saw them being given something. It turned out to be a loaf of bread each!!

Today (and the last few days.....) ....... getting back to the UK - but glad I'm back at home now - if slightly jet-lagged!
Have had a brilliant time down under - and everything going smoothly until trying to get back home - ended up on a 14 hour flight from Singapore to Bangkok........ imagine the usual time is probably about an hour
Got as far as middle of Afganistan before being told we couldnt land in London or anywhere it appeared in Europe - so they took us to Thailand!
Luckily managed to land at Heathrow last night - and get back home from there

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
You were lucky to get into Heathrow, they've been diverting flights to Birmingham. Mind you that has also been closed, on and off.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Yes, Heathrow reckoned they weren't allowing any incoming flights - so you were lucky!
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Spent this morning entertaining my goddaughter and her cousin (both 8) while their parents were at the grandmother's funeral. We made Christmas cards and decorations, and generally got covered in glitter and glue, and played games.
