It is snowing here again   I hope everyone is safe and warm and Eiren if you make it to Devon, you have a very legititmate excuse not to try and make it back for work

It seems this weather is also affecting Holland, thier roads are at a standstill. Hopefully it will clear for Hogmany as I am travelling to Holland.

My son is en route from Cornwall on the train. Not quite sure how we're going to get his stuff back here (can't get up or down our road at the moment). K's boyfriend finally made it back from Munich after 48 hours of travelling (drove to Belgium, then got the Eurostar back, then hired another car to get back to the airport to pick up his boss' car, then had to get back here via nice closed motorway...

My cat is NOT impressed by the snow. She went outside the back door and the snow was up to her belly! I think she's now crossing her legs...

If anyone is thinking of escaping to the warmer climate of the Costa del Sol don't bother. My daughter is having a repeat of last year's weather too. Endless torrential rain. Loud enough to be heard via phone.

It is warm rain though! Just take wellies.

-2 here and heavy rain due later. It better not freeze or I may have to slide to work tomorrow.

hmmm -10 forecast for tonight. Mind you, since, given how I'm feeling, I'll be spending tomorrow in bed, I don't think I care!
Just hope Thomas & Sigur don't catch it from me in time for next weekend!

Just seen a weather forecast and it is looking slightly less likely that M-in -L will get here for Christmas. She has already got herself in a state about the journey, and now we have seen more snow is threatened in Southern parts for Monday/Tuesday.

Yes we have been forecast more here too, so good job prodical son got home. OH was all ready to get back to riding his bike the 15 miles to work, but hopefully he will take the car and I can get a life in to work. Think of my poor boy walking the 6 miles to work at 2.30 in the morning to start work at 4.00 especially if it snows overnight

Oh dear, that doesn't sound like much fun!

Blimey, 15 miles cycle ride to work? (Must stop thinking about those thighs your OH must have...)

Well that's your fault for not putting a padlock on the fridge.

I was just about to continue the conversation about cylists' thighs when it occurred to me that I sound like a lecherous old woman. I should just precede all these comments with "ooh, young MAN!" Keep forgetting I'm an old lady.

Well yes, the snow finally arrived in force - although always worse inland that here on the coast (applies to both of us).
My OH was out clearing the front drive this morning when he reported seeing someone going down our road - on skis...

We've had some more this afternoon, and this evening OH has phoned his mum to say he's not going to fetch her for Christmas. She sounded relieved. We will try to go down to visit her after Christmas for a couple of days, but we'll have to see what the weather does. Now just to see if my Mum decides to try to get here.

That's actually really disappointing in a way. What a shame. :(

I'm just glad we're only going to be here for Christmas day (well, and walking to my brother's a mile away in the afternoon) and then boxing day at my sister in law's (about 1/4 of a mile). The thought of loads of travelling in these conditions would be terrible. Good luck to all those who DO have to make journeys, hope you all keep safe.

It's just the four* of us here on Christmas day but we are meant to be going to my sister-in-law in rural Dorset on Boxing day.

Assuming my daughter makes it here from Cambridge on Thursday night. But she is coming by train so hopefully will be OK.

The trains APPEAR to be behaving a bit better now, so fingers crossed.

well, I must admit that the thought of drive down to Devon is a bit scarey, especially given the snow that's just been forecast for here that morning...

Oh well, I'm feeling better this morning, so have the prospect of a mile walk to the tram stop.. (no way I'm going to defrost the car and try to drive - not only is it an icerink out there, but the locks keep freezing so I'd either not be able to lock the car when I got to the car park or not be able to unlock it when I was trying to come home!)
