Still waiting.

#1 Post by giraffe » Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:26 pm

Is anyone else still waiting for anything they ordered before Christmas?

I ordered a set of DVDs for my husband and they were dispatched on 16th Dec, due to arrive by 22nd Dec and they still haven't come. I went to the sorting office last week to see if I had missed the postman putting a card through the door, but they told me there is still a backlog of parcels in Scotland. I hope they arrive before his birthday in September.

No I'm not still waiting, but I have received not one but TWO parcels from Marks and Spencer (flowers and preserves and chocolates) which don't belong to me! Finally located the real recipient after an enormous sleuth like effort (and numerous calls to M and S who kept assuring me they'd dealt with it when they hadn't!). They were 67 numbers out on the road number. Close...

Also the two bassoon reeds that I ordered before Christmas, they sent one, so I rang them up and they sent the other. Yesterday I took them to see Lally's bassoon teacher because the reeds looked a bit big, and it turns out they have sent Contrabassoon reeds.

I can't remember who I ordered them from and I can't access my emails to find the order.

Yes!

I ordered some office furniture in October. The bookcase arrived in reasonable time. The pedestal did not - I wouldn't have known there was a delay on it unless I had contacted the company after three weeks to get an idea when delivery would be and they told me then. There was no sign they would have volunteered this information without me prompting.

So I wait a bit longer for the pedestal, then I ask them where it is. They say it was delivered with the bookcase. I say it wasn't and they told me there would be a delay. Eventually they come back and say sorry, we need to order it now and it will be 3-4 weeks. I say OK because I need a rather unusual colour and can't find it with any other furniture company.

So I take into account the snow etc and only send an email saying where is it last week. I am told the delivery company would contact me last week. They didn't, but did do so on Tuesday and arranged delivery for yesterday.

No delivery. At about 8pm I get a phone call from the van driver to say he's locked his keys in the van so he couldn't deliver and the company would have to rearrange delivery on another date.

Needless to say they've had my money all this time.

Guess who I won't be buying furniture from again!

How frustrating. :(

I'm also waiting for a French Horn. My son's school have been hiring us a horn, but because of mutual dislike between F and the head of instrumental music (both acting like 12 year olds, but only one of them has an excuse!) F refuses to go to band at school so they want their horn back. They don't actually have anyone that needs it but they "Might need a spare" So we have had to order one, that I thought was going to arrive before Christmas, then we were told 6th January (School wanted horn back at beginning of this term, so that was ok) then last week got an email saying it would be the 17th. So I went into school and grovelled to this awful man and he said " Oh yes I was going to phone you and ask if you wanted it for a bit longer as I don't actually need it" . Anyway I hope the horn arrives and is ok because I shall be very glad not to be beholden to the immature little prat any longer.

Just went on Amazon to see if I could find out where my parcel has got to. There are a huge number of people saying they haven't received things from this seller and it now has 94% negative feedback! Yikes. Off to get in touch with amazon. :( :(

edit: The seller has left amazon, so I've made a claim.
