I did have to laugh when Ted said "It's a bit extreme coming out here in this temperature with nothing on. I can't help feeling he's trying to make a point"

and his wife replied:

"I think that's the problem. Making a point in THIS temperature must be difficult, to say the least..."

OK and now I'll stop. Family forum etc. ;)

I'm being thrown out of my house tonight. My daughter is planning a games evening with her friends. I did try suggesting "Key Market" but she took one look at the 16 page instruction booklet and grimaced... :) I think she's thinking more on the lines of Pictionary!

 You think you've got problems? My daughter (23) just bought a Very Hungry Caterpillar board word book (aimed at your average 3 year old)...because she liked the pictures! Oh, and I WAS trying to make a puzzle all about children's TV again until Scurra laughed at me. I was enjoying the research so much it was really quite scary... (e.g does anyone remember the programme "spider"? Brilliant. :D )

Is that the same as spider in the bath? I'm not sure I remember spider. Do it!!! It sounds about my intellectual level!

EDIT: Just been and you-tube'd it. It is the one I remember. Funnily enough, I was thinking about this last night. I've been making my nephew watch Stoppit and Tidyup. Brilliant!!!

Grandchildren ( in my case) and nephews are wonderful things. You get to buy all the disney films, watch them first and then pass them on

Yeah, but the CD is in no way for Bun. It's purely for singing along in the car. Now, spending the afternoon watching Stoppit and Tidyup on the internet - that's a different matter!!!

I know what you mean!!

Yes, one of them was Spider in the Bath. There weren't many of them but they had brilliant music to go with them and were quite unique!! :D When I was on the DVP forum I posted a whole set of puzzles based on children's programmes. I'm not proud!!

They referred to the puzzle pages. 2 was looking at a scene of Noggin the Nogthrough the SQUARE WINDOW, 7 was the snowballs being thrown at letters which spelled out characters from the Magic Roundabout, looking through the ROUND WINDOW, and 14 was the weird letters on the window with directions, spelling out the firemen from Trumpton, and it was the ARCHED WINDOW. Which window shall we go through today, children? Ringing any bells yet?

And crikey, these really were rubbish puzzles, weren't they? (Although I do still quite like the flowerpot men one...)

You're making me want to look at them again and I'm not sure if I kept them all. And if I did I have to work out where they might be.

Ha!!! A sneaky meta-type puzzle displayed as an individual puzzle - I'm not surprised I didn't get that... As you intended, I was trying to do something directly with the (lack of) information on that one page :(

Still - nice to have an answer at last :) Very Clever!

 Sorry, bro, I didn't realise you never had the answer!

I did think the flowerpot man puzzle was especially educational. I still impress people today with my ability to speak and translate genuine flowerpot man...

Well, I'm not allowed to giggle any more today. I've had my full quota of hysteria for one day. D and I went out for a meal tonight to let K and A have some friends round. We came back and they were playing Pictionary, and they asked if I wanted to join in. OMG it was so funny, neither me or my partner Sarah can draw AT ALL. Sarah was trying to get across PROFESSIONAL and was trying to draw a man in a business suit. Unfortunately, I thought it was an octopus!! We were incapable of speech for about 20 minutes...

 Well you do see a lot of octopuses (octopi?) getting out of the underground at Bank with their umbrellas and bowler hats and heading off to work, so it must have been an easy mistake to make.

  Well, I thought so...

they're now playing some thing a bit like a wii called Kinect (?) which has a sensor thing you have on top of the telly, which can see where you're moving. They're all jumping around like complete head cases. I think K just got decapitated!

It's a bit more high tech than when I was young - I think the most high tech thing I ever had was the game of Operation. Remember that??

I don't think I've ever played that. Probably after my time

I used to play hopscotch or jacks or French skipping. Even our Monopoly set had a spinner rather than dice as it was a wartime set. :D

Actually, when I was little I spent far more time playing cowboys and Indians in the back garden with the boys down the road!
