It's always the little things like that which are most irritating when you're not fully functioning, isn't it? After one of my operations, one of the things which upset me most was not being able to put my own socks on!!

I have one of those mugs for taking a cup of tea to cricket matches. The only problem is that it keeps the tea hot for a long time, so mind you don't burn your tongue! :P

I haven't tested it yet!

Ian managed to make it down for dinner last night and lunch today, although he retired hurt and I found out it was because he hadn't taken his painkillers :x

Still if he can just make it downstairs to collect his food and take it straight back up, that's a really big help.

LOL - The one that did that for me was when I had a bunch of 14-year-olds on the bus and they were talking about music. They asked me what I liked and I told them not to bother with me beacuse I go WAY back.

The pushed, and I told them I liked the old 'dance bands'.

"What?.......", they said........

wheee! You are there, LAT. Not surprised you are tired out. Hope you have a wonderful time with no time at all for posting on here (but due to doing good things, not due to working too hard).

Enjoy that loo seat (but hopefully not too much!)

... not working 'cos it's my birthday :D

That's what's good about being self-employed.

The downside? I just had to turn down £1,000 worth of work because I haven't got the time - or energy at the moment :(

Glad you got there safely, LAT, and I like the idea of the loo seat! Hope you have a great time!

And good on you, Dramaticat. I definitely think it's good to have your birthday off if you can. Have a good one. :D

NB I originally had this as reading "it's always good to have it off on your birthday if you can." But that really WASN'T what I meant...

But an alternate reading would never have occurred to those of us with slightly purer minds (i.e. all of us) if you hadn't drawn attention to it.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

.......trying to inspire Kingsley to choose a topic for her art GCSE exam piece. They are given a series of titles and they have to pick one. She wasn't inspired by JESTER or FISHING :? Currently she is thinking of doing INTERESTING NUMBERS and trying to do something based on 76 trombones. Decision and preliminary ideas need to be with the teacher by Friday. She is terrified of the Art teacher and last night at parents evening kept trying to hide behind the grand piano every time the art teacher looked her way!

That's similar to what Leah did for her art GCSE and she's totally amazing at art. Leah did a mixed up musical instrument collage with sheets of music sort of protruding from the canvas. It was all textured. Leah was a straight A student so I know it was great. :D

You're including YOURSELF in that?? Ahem. I don't think so.

I like the idea of 76 trombones... :D

I think she's trying to reflect the number 76 in the shiny bell of the trombone.

I suggested she asked the school trombonist to stand in one of those lifts with mirrors both sides, and take a photo of that to work from, but I just got the "Mum you're SO weird" look.

I think it's an extremely clever idea - tell her the pics can be part of the planning evidence

A perfect hand-drawn circle could represent the very interesting number Zero. I belive there's a history of such pictures, but a little research tells me that what I thought was true for one artist may well have been done by others.
