Well, if I could get a DOCTOR'S appointment, I probably would. But I couldn't today (my day off) and next week I'm back at work. And the way the land lies the Head teacher (AKA Hitler) is no way going to let me go during work hours. We had a lovely meeting all about the 80% cuts they were making, and the number of staff who'd have to go... So with any luck I might be able to be a "Lady wot lunches" again. :D I can feel Scurra preparing to leave the country as he realises the possiblity of me, full time....

That voice thing sounds nasty :( Take care of yourself and get well.

For saving of time, you can usually get away with only removing one limb from each child - unless they start blocking the blows with another limb

Hope things are OK at the dentist.... not my favourite place as you know

... sore.

Well, I've been sore for the last three days actually.

Oh, and bored. The latest book I'm working on is titled The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision - anyone still awake???

I often lose my voice, and have lost it for a whole week before now. It's incredibly frustrating, but usually comes back on its own.

I seem to get throat infections more than most, and have also been hospitalised with glandular fever. No fun at all. :(

At least on here you are your usual noisy self.

Oi, Giraffe, watch it!! It's TOTALLY freaking my cat out. She keeps talking to me and I can't answer. So she's careering around the house trying to attract my attention instead. Earlier she chewed right through my ball of wool.

My voice is an octave or so lower than usual at the moment, but still present.

Poor Bunny! :(

Hope you're making proper bunny noises again soon.

And I'd worry if you start talking in Parseltongue.

Nah, you're not nearly arrogant enough. I think everyone likes to kid themselves that they'd be in one of the others, but really we all know we'd be in Hufflepuff.

Thank you all for the good wishes. Voice is now BEGINNING to come back (although I sound like Ray Winston, probably starting to look a bit like him too, but hey ho...) However, now have a hacking cow and complete bunged upness (plus a temperature this morning of 102 still... )

It was really funny last night though. It was my sister in law's birthday, so I HAD to make the effort to get dressed and go round to give her a card. Mad b-i-l (who is quite deaf, owing to operating chainsaws without ear defenders) went scuttling off into the garage and came back with...wait for it...a MEGAPHONE for me.   So I spent the evening whispering really loudly to others across the room with a giant megaphone.

 :o  Flipping heck. Was that a COMPLIMENT??? Are you slipping, Scurra? Or are you suggesting that arrogance is a virtue?

I'm hoping it's ok. The one I did 2 weeks ago was great, but this one was very soggy in the middle and the outside was about to burn and so I put it back in and turned off the heat.

All are welcome as long as you can be here within the hour as that is when daughter dearest will finish her Chinese and sart on it. :D

OMG we have a police helicopter hovering above, making announcements along the lines of

"We are searching for a young white male 5'5", beige coat, black shoes. If you see him do not approach him, and contact the police immediately."

What worries me is that stupid parents haven't got their children (I'm guessing aged about 9) who are playing on the grass opposite, home before it's dark. And now there's presumably a dangerous person on the loose? I find that quite worrying.

It's so lovely round here.
