To LAT you are lovely and tall and slim (read that in a Belfast accent)

To Bunnylump you are not a huge, fat person - you have a lovely face and beautiful smile

So there 8-)

just a couple of comments about feet (sorry, can't help on the shows/trip to london).

My friend had a similar problem to you, Fraggle, she's got size 4. Not sure what she ended up with for her wedding a couple of years ago - I'll ask her.

Giraffe - snap, I've got size 8. There do seem to be a few more places that stock them now, but I used to always just shop in the men's section as it was easier to find comfortable shoes. Now at least I can get ladies shoes the right size, but trying to find a pair that doesn't make my feet look massive is tricky!

Bunny - I have been known to use de-odorant on my feet before now... (usually with sandals)

We were going to a wedding last summer and there is a lovely little shop near us that does hats and bags and shoes, and not very expensive, but I couldn't get my feet in any of the shoes in the shop. They were continental sizes, which always seem to end at the equivalent of 7.5 :( I had to go to Brantano and get a pair of pretty ugly sandals and then back to the nice little shop for a bag to match.

well it depends what you want to spend
with your desire to see a shoe
how about one on Leicester Square?
Radisson Edwardian Hampshire
looks nice and if you book through www.travelintelligence.com
for a double/twin
its £140 ish down from about £170 on other sites
that is a hotel describing it self as luxury though
i doubt the hostel i stayed in when i was stopping in london over night b4 madrid at £8 a night would be apt ;-)

There is a Travelodge almost opposite Euston station which should be in between the two in price.
I haven't been to a show in London for ages, the last one was Lion King some years ago but it was pretty amazing.

And Red Fraggle, very kind of you to say such nice things about me but I think your memory is failing you!

I'm still searching for any part of me that could remotely be called lovely.

You are lovely Lat! I've seen the pictures of you on here and the other place.

Aw, SparkOut. That was such a sweet and lovely thing to say about LAT. And so true too.

God I'm a soppy cow sometimes. You just made me cry. :)

Edit: I just spotted you seem to have gained a new name...

Sorry about all the thread deviation, Tricia. But you just KNOW it'll happen on here, it's inevitable! Obviously if I go to London then I just travel in, and wouldn't need to stay in a hotel, so can't help you at all. I have seen the Phantom of the Opera though (a long time ago) and despite the fact it's Andrew LLoyd Webber (who I think is rubbish), the visuals of the play were really good. I particularly liked the bit where they are supposed to be on a glassy lake in the mist - and they had dry ice swirling around and clever lighting so it really looked authentic.

:? The visuals weren't that good then. Weren't they supposed to be in the sewers under the theatre? That's how I remember it, anyway!

I thought it was meant to be a lake under the theatre? But what do I know? This was about 20 years ago so it could have been anything really!
