Has everyone seen the announcement on DVP?

It was only a matter of time really (especially when it became clear that they didn't really have a plan B.)
I'm more surprised the forum lasted as long as it did. Then again, Puzzlebrains probably wouldn't have happened at all if it had closed even a few months earlier. So it's all their fault really :D

I have not seen the announcement on DVP but I am guessing that it is closing down or something :?:

Maybe we will have to start some new Game theads on here? Otherwise some of us might get withdrawal symptons.

I agree with LAT. (Kingsley has done a very efficient job of killing off Zendo.)

I agree we'll have to tranfer our regular games to here. Withdrawal symptoms are bad for us.

Have been over there and felt very down. What would I do without the rest of the College staff? Sam and Si have posted in absentia (as Mr S. would put it), but they can't all come and post through this login. I wanted to try and keep this login as one person's posts.

I'm surprised at just how sad I do feel. It's a bit like the end of an era. I think we DEFINITELY need some game threads here too. Do you think we should keep some of the old ones or start some new ones?

I've started up a "best bits" thread on DVP, just to allow one last bout of reminiscence. Please add your comments!

Very bad news indeed :(

I will be contacting DVPadmin/H Bauer to confirm that they will still be very welcome to give us any news of any new ventures "over here".

To answer Bunny's query re old and new games -you are all very welcome to continue any puzzles you may already have started on DVP on our members puzzle thread. Cut and paste whatever you need to and continue as before. :D
(PLEASE PLEASE not game 1- we'd crash the server again!!!!!)

May I make one very small request? We keep that thread as puzzles/quizzes etc. and I will now open up a chat thread for those late night things that degenerate into all things hilarious.

Unless they are posting under aliases some of the early DVP names seem to have vanished -- hope they have all 'come over' and maybe just maybe the community spirit will come over with them.

There is a thread like game 1 on the runes. Wulfruna keeps it running nicely! :D If Gill won't let you play here LAT you could go and crash their site for them.

I would remind the Giraffe that we managed to break the Runes forum with the "Game" too... :D

It feels a bit like leaving Junior school, when you think the world's going to end, only to realise that all your friends are going to secondary school with you anyway, so it might not be the same, but that's not quite the disaster you thought it'd be. At least we're still all together!! :)

It feels much more like leaving at the end of Senior School (remembering that I was at boarding school) when you know its likely that you'll never hear from a lot of your friends ever again and it will take effort to keep in touch with any of them.

I did two if the DVP magazines and made an account (as zoomzoombutterscotch) to enter a sheep game. By the way what is game 1?

Kingsley, it's the word game where you have to conect one word to the next.

Oh yes, I wasn't very good at that on the runes. It was quite funny to read though.
