STRANGE PHONECALLS

#1 Post by Redfraggle » Fri Apr 15, 2011 11:34 pm

Ive just had a major shocker of a message from Giraffe. It turns out that Carmen had rang her from my mobile and had a conversation in baby chatter. But she rang America!

I think she dialled random numbers too! The worst of it is that Ivan KNEW she had done it - but he thought she was talking to her daddy. I think I shall strangle them both - Ive just rang Leah and told her she's getting the bill.

I think that Giraffe's mobile, assuming it was that, will foot the overseas part of the bill, not you. You will just pay for a normal call to a mobile in this country. That's how it usually works when someone is abroad.

 You think that's bad, Fraggle, my friend's husband was asked by their 5 year old if her and her sister could play "hairdressing" with the scissors. He looked at what she had in her hand, and saw little red plastic kiddy scissors. He thought to himself "They won't cut hair" so said "yes, that's a good idea." (Presumably pleased that it would keep them quite for a bit so he could watch the telly). What he hadn't realised was that they were children's PAPER scissors - plastic on the outside and metal in the middle. About 20 minutes later Helen came back asking if he could "stick the fringe back on now". She had a fringe at about a number one clipper cut!!  My friend Gill went APE at him!!

They're tricksy devils those mobile phones. And can get you into all sorts of strife. Like when mine amalgamated a message I'd sent to my daughter with one I sent a few seconds later to my old boss, Ian. The message he got was
"OK that's fine. I'll do it tomorrow. Don't forget the chocolate. Love you Loads."
The first two sentences were aimed at him...

Also we had an international incident when one sister in law's phone accidentally got pressed in her bag, and other s i l overheard us all moaning about her...

  I have never done anything like that thankfully. My sister did though - she was bitching about an aquaintance but she sent the text to the girl!

Oh I've sent e mails to the wrong person too, with totally incriminating evidence in it..

I'm forever getting calls from people who have sat on their phone as I'm the last in their directory. I can hear all sorts of random chatter, but they can't hear me. I'm on pay as you go, so there won't be a huge bill waiting for me, but i might be out of credit. Never mind, accidents happen.

I once sent a text to my old flute teacher (who's first in my phone book) saying 'It's a big bag, with seven little legs in it.'

My sister was cooking for mother's day, but I was buying all the ingredients, and had just purchased 7 lamb shanks. Don't know WHAT the flute teacher thought!

Well, I hadn't seen her for quite a while. I'm not sure whether she'll still have the same number. But no, I thought I'd just let her wonder why I was telling her about little legs in a bag!

My daughter aged 3 rang the firebrigade (well they were who came out) they were having tea with my mum when I got there to pick her up. Apparently this was the second time in a week, but Mum didn't think to tell me the first time or move the phone
