2011 Meet

#1 Post by gill216 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 1:43 pm

Any suggestions? Anyone willing to host?

I'll start off with the dates I'm NOT available. June 9,10,11. (I have a knickerless persons wedding to attend in Belfast :D - ) Usually a week early September (after the children have gone back to school).

As ever I'm willing to host , either in Withernsea where I can arrange caravan hire and could find out about b&b's, or in Leeds -but I no longer have the city centre car park key for free parking and we've already done this one.

Fire away.

I can't commit to anything yet, haven't booked a summer holiday!! But if it fits in with me being here I'd probably join in whatever was happening. I'm not in a position to host - will have a full house again soon (son back from uni, daughter still here but looking for a house) and I am in mid- dismantle of Mum's house. So there's more chaos than usual.

If someone else is willing to do the rest I'm very happy to help with catering etc. I DON'T like driving in big cities when I don't know where I'm going but would probably drive to somewhere rural if I had company (preferably someone who is able to navigate!!)

Off the top of my head can't do weekend of 9th /10th July or Sun 17th July. Not going away in summer as far as I know, as we've been already. (Although we'll be off to visit the outlaws in Sussex at some point)

Happy to help arrange / drive etc.

Just as long as you don't become a sensible married lady...and arrive wearing knickers. Then we'll all know it's gone horribly wrong.

Yes. Sorry I give seem to give mixed messages about Puzzlebrains - am I still involved, have I given up? Hold your breath everyone!! When I sort my life out, I'll be clearer about a lot of things - in the meantime I get a lot of comfort in knowing that you're all there.

I would be fairly OK about having the meet here again, (No I haven't told Peter) but also, now that Ben's in Leeds more permanently, would also be very keen to go there.

Aw, that's very sweet of you to say that, Supersleuth. You know we love having you here. :D I'm hoping to pin my husband down (metaphorically speaking!!) to try to book my summer holiday soon. Then at least I'll know when I'm about. I would really like to make this one if at all possible!! :D

...Perhaps I'd better pin him down literally speaking as well, just to be on the safe side...

Well, I'm still not contributing because I still haven't pinned my husband down!! I will come somewhere, probably, if I'm not on holiday!! Would anyone like to suggest some tentative dates for a starter?

OK I'll make it my mission to try to get a holiday booked as soon as possible. I should be available at some point in August, but also if it was a long weekend or something I could probably fit in something in July. I'm now owed a week's worth of hours again - and I WILL take it on principle. :D

So now we need everyone else to list their dates. I can get a free boat over from my brother-in-law - he works for the boat company and he's not using his free sailing this year. :D

Blimey, that's a result, isn't it? :D But by then you'll be a sensible old married lady. Are you sure you'll be able to cope with a PB meet??

  We all love your craziness! Never lose that.

I'm so old now I'll need a zimmer and a bath chair. And I can't have any of you young whippersnappers leading me astray. I'm hoping for a sedate tea party and then a coach trip. What do you think?

We had a coach trip when we went to Belfast. But I am using the term "coach trip" rather loosely here!
