The FPA - are those the ones that announce their arrival with a drum roll?

That's one up on Scurra..... his recently acquired pussy-cat doesn't even have a name yet! (ooops - are you going to edit that out on the grounds that I shouldn't be revealing family secrets????LAT wrote:oh and Luna is pretty mad - well named really. .
Perhaps we should start a new thread just for the cat-lovers?

Ah now that is quite a cool family secret. The acquistion of a pussy cat makes Scurra sound altogether far more "cuddly".

Depends if it turns out like Misty. The addition of a Misty to anyone's entourage would give the same impression as a pair of Doberman Pinschers.

New thread needed: "Name that cat"
How about "Enigma" ?

That's a good name.
At the moment I'm tempted to rename Misty to "Trip Hazard" since she's taken to lying on the top step of the stairs.

Mine does that too. She also bites my husband's toes if he sticks them outside the duvet. (Stupid cat - taking her life in her hands!!)
I think you should call your cat Germolina, Scurra.

I think that the best name for a cat is Kingsley (although large cats with beards are the mlst suitable for this name!)

Depends if it's a white persian and he strokes it whilst sitting in a chair, plotting world domination.Bunnylump wrote:Ah now that is quite a cool family secret. The acquistion of a pussy cat makes Scurra sound altogether far more "cuddly".

Congratulations on the acquisition of a cat Scurra! And Enigma and Germolina are both good names. How about showing us a photo?

Call it Grandma or Aunt Jemima then standing at the back at night shouting "come in Grandma I'm going to lock up" creates a certain amount of interest from the neighbours

One of the French French teachers who I used to work with had kittens called "Castor and Pollux". Trouble is, she had a really strong accent and pronounced it "Castorrr and Pollooks". I had to laugh thinking of her calling them in, I must admit.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Dragged this over. Kathlyn posted it on the other place and it seemed to fit here in view of Brian's suggestionSAYING GOODBYE TO MOTHER
You Don't Have To Own A Cat To Appreciate This One! You don't even have to like 'em!
We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Years Eve Party. We turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.
We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house.
The cat we put out in the yard, scoots back into the house. We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird.
My wife goes out to the taxi, while I went inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, with me in hot pursuit. Waiting in the cab, my wife doesn't want the driver to know that the house will be empty for the night. So, she explains to the taxi driver that I will be out soon,
'He's just going upstairs to say Goodbye to my mother.'
A few minutes later, I get into the cab. 'Sorry I took so long,' I said, as we drove away. 'That stupid b***h was hiding under the bed. I had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then, I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!'
The cab driver hit a parked car.
There's no point in having a last minute if you don't use it!
