Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I'd love to know HOW to turn the irritations off. I hate that little formatting thing which pops up and covers over what I'm trying to write.
MBH I think you'd have your work cut out with us lot!

Dear Sir < Did you mean Hiya Mate?> I am writing to complain < Did you mean Wassup?>
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Some of the correction suggestions I have had have been hysterical.
I would also like to know how to turn it all off to make it plain. I generally know exactly how I want to format it in the end but getting it to stop eg giving me an indented paragraph every time I type a number is such a time waster.
Right - Meet number one - Word lessons for those who need it
- Meet number two - a trip to Kent to see Allo Allo.
What about it guys?

I think we might need to make sure MBH is free first! Gill suggested ages ago we should have a "jam" with all the musicky people and a pc workshop for all the non computer people.

Am I allowed to play comb and paper again? (now who remembers that? )Bunnylump wrote:Gill suggested ages ago we should have a "jam" with all the musicky people

So which group do you put Kingsley in with Sibelius on her laptop?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
same group as me trying to do my first run in 2 years to the Brahms lullaby instead of Born to run on my ipod, didn't do much for keeping up with my daughter and son's girlfriend who are 30 years my juniors, but I showed them on the final sprint (this is a 10 minute run I'm talking about by the way).
Must have been a strange site my daughter in shorts and T shirt, me in leggings and T-shirt (well that is strange on it's own), son's girlfriend dress for the artic in jogs t-shirt and jacket.

I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
What is this word "RUN"? If I ran for ten minutes I'd be dead. I can WALK for miles and miles. I TRIED running the other week - from one lamp post to the next in a 30mph area. My knees hurt and I decided I was too old!!

Giraffe, Kingsley and I could sit together in a little Sibelius corner, and she could help me arrange Christmas carols for my orchestra for next Christmas. Rehearsals start on 6th September - I'll be working on the pieces by August!!!
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I've never seen Sibelius. I won't be much use to you.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I meant that as in the rest of the message is directed towards you! Not that you wouldn't be welcome to have a go obviously. If anyone can make Christmas music in August more exciting, then they're very welcome to volunteer to help!!!
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
You are speaking to someone who is capable of singing three christmas carols to the same tune, and not realising what they have done.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Jolly good! That'll do! I currently know 5 different tunes to While shepherds watched, I think. We had a girl audition to sing the Once in Royal solo last year who tried to sing it to o little town of Bethlehem. It wouldn't have been so bad if was actually possible to fit those words to that tune, but it really isn't!! Anyway. Enough about Christmas. I have to start it soon enough. I draw the line at the start of August.

actually that reminds me of a muppets youtube clip....giraffe wrote:You are speaking to someone who is capable of singing three christmas carols to the same tune, and not realising what they have done.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
..... packing ready to fly off to Germany tomorrow for a couple of weeks. Time again for the huge "Kirchentag" christian festival, this time in Dresden, which I am looking forward to visiting very much. This involves quite a lot of work for me, helping to run the "international centre" for foreign visitors (who might need help with the language).
But then we are taking a few days holiday afterwards in Berlin, so that will be time to relax...... I might even manage to find time for a few puzzles when I feel worn out with sightseeing Not sure if I shall manage to get online at all - but will try!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Have fun, Wulfruna!
...I've bin RECOVERING. It was OH's birthday - and we had a party. It SEEMED like a good idea to invite 25 people round yesterday. I didn't quite take into account just how LONG it would take to hand make (dough and everything) 9 giant pizzas, a giant lemon drizzle cake and pear and toffee cakes. Consequently my daughter and I spent about 5 hours in the kitchen. Still, we were really lucky with the weather, so everyone stayed late (it started off as an "afternoon" event, beginning at 2pm, but the last people left at midnight!!! ) We were all able to sit outside in the garden until night time drinking and chatting. So at least I did get to see people EVENTUALLY. It was nice because we had some friends round who we hadn't seen for ages (plus all the usual suspects.) Oh, and even though I say it myself, the food WAS yummy.
I'm now looking forward to the challenge for my nephew's birthday - they are having a "make the best dinosaur cake" competition next month. With prizes (he will be 26, by the way!!). I INTEND to win. Mind you, as one of the contenders is my brother, who thought it would be a great plan to "make" a food mixer the last time he made a cake, by bending a wire coathanger into a whisk shape and adding it to his electric drill...and most of the cake ended up on the ceiling... I think I stand a reasonable chance!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I once made a dinosaur cake for my son's birthday. It was good fun to do but I did have a book to follow for ideas so I can't really claim it was entirely my own creation.
