Re: Today I've mostly bin...
today mostly bin workin' but I sneaked enough time on the "DVP PM rescuing project" to have a first prototype. I downloaded all my PMs about 10 times (takes about 5 to 10 minutes to run, for my set of PMs where there are 1250 messages about 10 MBytes in total) and everything seems OK.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Trying to get home from Cornwall through flood, famine and tempest. Well flood and famine, cos we didn't stop for lunch. Very soggy weekend.
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

I'm happy to test it - once I've made sure that I've saved things like email addresses and phone numbers!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My computer is back from the hospital for sick computers! It's working much faster than before, but he says he has deleted things that were using up all the memory.
So I'll have to start filling it up again.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
glad it's all sorted now
Happy filling!

Oh. You could have told me that that computer was back!
I have been using the old one!
Mind you I should have spotted because I went down to have a chat with kingsley who was sitting on the chair in the study but I somehow didn't manage to notice that she was using the computer.
I have found new extents of observance.

Has anyone else had trouble logging into puzzlebrains this evening? Kingsley is right, it is VERY slow from here.

I had a little trouble earler. It was like the mills of God. Which is my nickname for anything which takes a long time, e.g. bureaucratic processes.

Me too. And it prompted my computer to do a full system scan. Again.

Just sitting down with a mug of coffee (to avoid packing) and looking at some old threads on DVP and came across this on 'New Words'
Scurralous (adj) of a puzzle, difficult to solve unless you can work out the hidden logic, which is usually InSiCoQua and only understandable after you have been given a) a hint or b) the answer.

Fernando, I hope you recover soon but I also hope you don't pass it on!

I think I'm to blame for that one. Or at least someone very like me is to blame.Looby wrote:Just sitting down with a mug of coffee (to avoid packing) and looking at some old threads on DVP and came across this on 'New Words'
