...Working stupid, stupid stupid hours.
But at least I went to take my friend's daughter a present round for her 21st and got a piece of birthday cake. Hungry caterpillar mug. Excellent. (She loved it!!)

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I'm going to backtrack a bit to Sunday.
A few months ago I had booked a day trip. There were three trips on the same coach, with the options of Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, or Mevagissey. I had always gone to the Eden Project before (five times so far), but fancied a change and went to the Lost Gardens instead.
I had hoped for good weather, but I'm blaming the Government for announcing a drought - it was bound to rain the moment it was declared.
One of the areas in Heligan is Horsemoor Hide, and this was my first destination after getting the map and compass (a free souvenir, so people don't get lost).
Outside the windows of the hide are a number of bird feeders, and they were getting very well used by the following birds:
Chaffinch; Greenfinch; Bullfinch; Goldfinch; Nuthatch; Great tit.
There was also a jackdaw there, and I even saw a young rabbit!
It did dry up a bit later, so after a cup of tea in the cafe I had a look round the Northern Gardens.
Still so much I didn't see - I will have to make another visit sometime! (And hopefully it will be drier!!)

Sounds lovely Cenwulf. I keep meaning to go there but have never quite made it!

We went back to work today and they had changed my name on the office door. All the kids keep announcing - 'she got married to Mr Acheson', then they look at my rings and say 'wow, look at the colour!'

You are sparkly too? Excellent. I'm all dull and dusty. I need a good polish.

Children love the idea of weddings don't they Fraggle? I bet they were really excited to see you.
And I love Heligan too Cenwulf. We went there first about 5 years ago and again this March. The transformation was quite amazing, they have done a lot of work in that time. I still have my compass attached to my waterproof jacket zip but it never worked properly. Just as well I can read maps.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Agree, Lost Gardens of Heligan are great. Not been there for a few years so lots must have changed.
My day started very early as I had to get my OH to hospital by 7am for his knee replacement op. Hoping they haven't kept him waiting around too long as he hates all things medical and he only has to walk into a doctors surgery for his blood pressure to rise so if he's still waiting it'll be sky high by now.

Owwwww - best of luck for your OH, that does NOT sound like a fun day Wishing him a quick recovery and a better situation once everything is done.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Indeed, hope the OP goes well Kathlyn and that he is soon leaping around!
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Just phoned hospital to see how he is and was told he's waiting for something to eat and is very lively . He had an epidural not a general anesthetic, so I suppose that's why he's ok either that or he's high on morphine
Thanks for the good wishes for him.

Glad to hear he sounds so perky. He'll probably be up and about in a couple of days. When MIL had hers done I think they had her climbing stairs only a few days later.

Kathlyn my mum had this op and she was grand afterwards. She had to fly to England for the op and was totally great. Good luck for your husband!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
.... at the summer fair since 6 am this morning in the rain, but at least we had a gazebo, but as it is on a cliff top it still a bit damp and rather windy, but at least the plants didn't dry out (always a bright side).
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Go on. You're dying for someone to ask why so I'll fall into the trap
Why are you feelin chuffed? Premium bonds come up? Know you are going to win the lottery? I'm guessing something to do with work?
