You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Where they learn to be resilient.

Basically it's teaching kids "happiness". Obviously in my day we never learned this so we must all be very miserable.

Re: The things kids say
1. This week, during a year 9 Language exam, they were asked to say what language was spoken generally at home. One boy wrote "Chav"!
2. A year 10 boy said to me today
"Miss - you look really stunning today!"
I was a bit taken aback because I assumed he was joking or about to follow it up with a rude comment. But then he qualified it, saying
..."Well, when I say you look stunning, I mean in an OLD sort of way..."
I laughed at him and told him to watch it or I'd bash him. "No", he replied, a bit miffed. "I was being serious. You're a LEDGE."
(That is teenage code for "legend", so I suppose I should be pleased!)
Talk about building you up and then slapping you down all in one go...

I think that was definitely a compliment. In a roundabout sort of way.

Aw...MBH, that was a very sweet thing to say. You do know how to make a girl feel better. Top marks for knowing just what to say at just the right time.

Not what kids say, but what they're carrying.....
I've seen this logo a number of times and really thought Scurra & Gill were doing VERY well at expanding the magazine. Today I managed to remember to ask Google the question "What the heck....?"

Yes, I'd seen that pop up in things a couple of times lately myself, wondered what it was for and went to look it up. Which I suppose means that it achieved its objective in terms of advertising!
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

... and for those like me who then also had to look it up - it stands for Paul's Boutique

Re: The things kids say
I have just come back from Derby and noticed someone walking down the street with one of those bags and it immediately caught my eye. I did wonder what it meant and whether Scurra was doing a bit of a sideline in handbags.

There you go, Scurra. That could be a nice little earner for you. What do you think?

I looked to see if they had any charms but they run over £20 so I thought that I probably don't need one!

Re: The things kids say
This is obviously my ultimate Christmas present (hint, hint...) - as my OH is Peter, it kills two birds with one handbag

Well, considering the poor man has to put up with Puzzlebrains coming from all the rest of the family when he doesn't really know what's going on.....
