Now you tell him! I've got some variety of his cough, except it means I have a drippy nose and a headache and I feel hot all of the time even when I'm sitting by an open window and everyone else is begging the teacher to close it.

Urgh
Lurgy house!! Get well soon all.

Today I've mostly bin...
at a funeral. Obviously a very sad occasion; however, slightly lightened by one of the family speakers admitting:
"One of my memories of my Dad was when I was devastated, having just broken up with my girlfriend. His suggested remedy was to become a Morris Dancer".

...followed by my mad Brother in Law (the one who comes up with challenges in the pub, such as http://217.174.252.57/JForum-2.1.6/posts/list/1319.page, who had written a poem, which was touching. The strange but amusing part was when he later admitted that he had been forced to delete two lines in it, when he originally had as
"...always with his poise and humour,
So sad he had a malignant tumour."  ONLY he would have thought that would have been an amusing touch at a funeral!!!

Thank you Bunnylump for yet another forgotten link - I've been laughing out loud as I re-read those 7 pages.

Ah yes, I was hoping that would prompt you to read it again. I spotted that too. It doesn't seem possible it was that long ago, does it?

The two funereal bits. That's the trouble with funerals when apart from being sad they are hilarious. At my father's funeral my cousin was trying to remain composed whist sharing one of the official cars with a spider. She told us about it at the crematorium and then on the way home afterwards no one was sure whether they were in the car with the spider or the other one!

Many years ago, my Dad was driving an old car following a Hearse in a funeral procession. Unfortunately, his car developed a fault which meant that every time he turned left, it sounded the horn!!!

Mind you that was years and years ago. I think he was driving an old Humber. Must have been embarassing though.

Today I've mostly bin sorting out the score for Joseph (ATATD). I have to get the words all organised so that the soloists have their bits, and the choir have the other bits, and everyone still knows where everyone else is at any particular time. I'm doing this production with 10-yr-old soloists and 4-9 yr-old choir, so all the normal choir parts have to be massively condensed, while still having all the crucial notes there. I've done 13 out of 18 songs. Had enough now!!!

Roll on the 27th June when this is all over!!!!

That sounds like a massive task, Laura. I hope it all goes well after all this!! I'm sure it will. Good luck!

Golly yes, good luck with that Laura.

I'm having a good day so far. Ernie sent me a small Valentine's present. :D

Kingsley's junior school did it and she sang the part of the narrator. It was a very small school, with only 12 in year 6 and 8 in year 5, so they all had really big parts, (even Fernando had a solo who was Zebulun ) I had a starring role too, as I made the costumes.

Right, finished the words. Just got to learn to play the piano part. I sense this may take a little longer.

And what good costumes they were too. I remember you spending ages sewing bits of muticoloured fabric together!

Aaaah Kingsley - no-one seems to have sympathised with you in your misery... hope you're better soon.
Indeed, I thought the move straight onto funeral anecdotes was a bit tactless when you're feeling under the weather.....

Today..... I received a bunch of red roses from my normally very unromantic husband. Not sure what brought that on! He's even cooking the supper tonight - which is not bad for a total novice :D
WARNING: no need for comments from family members, who are probably gobsmacked  just keep quiet about my sharing this outside the family.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. In my defence I did also say
Get well soon all.
, and I did mean it.

On a different note, LAT - is this Ernie as in that lovely computer which smiles at us occasionally? Or do you have a secret admirer?? Whatever the case, LUCKY GIRL!!
