Now this one is horribly addictive and very clever.
http://www.wordsandwich.com/
All you have to do is to guess the five-letter word. Each time you guess, you are told if your guess is before or after the mystery word in the alphabet. So you gradually narrow it down - although the final answer is frequently annoyingly elusive.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Blimey. Impressed.
And yes, annoyingly addictive. I got all the words apart from the last one.

Huh? I got a cartoon with Freddie Mercury!!

Do you not have a picture with what looks like a "play" icon?

Not a cartoon all about FM and a soundtrack?

Odd. Very odd.

the only place in the world where you can enjoy the breathtaking experience of feeding and photographing the giraffe over the breakfast table and at the front door.
I'm not photogenic at breakfast time!

Now this one is amazing.
http://uk.akinator.com/
Basically, it's the twenty questions game against the computer.
Think of someone (real or fictional) and it will try to guess who it is.
And it's really, really, really good. I mean it. It took me about ten goes to come up with one it didn't guess - and I feel like I cheated because I picked someone very obscure indeed.
(Now, of course, if someone else tries that character it has some more information about them!)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Oh, that's addictive! There's some slightly dodgy questions in there though, like, is you character mostly in comedies? Well, the most famous thing might be a comedy, but if they've done loads of other stuff since, what do you put? I've done about 4 where I've gone through all the categories and it's not guessed it, but then it was there as an option at the end.

it does offer the "I don't know" option. And you can choose "probably partially" and "probably not" which covers most of the range.
But yes, obviously there will be times when you may not be sure. It still seems to get to the right answer in the end.

This is great - most impressive, even if he didn't manage them all in the initial 20 q's. He even knew Ada Lovelace

- and had her picture, which is quite hard to find
(Lord Byron's daughter if anyone is interested : the woman who was the real brains behind Charles Babbage's calculating machine, but did not, of course, get the credit for it.....)
