It was TOO easy - the Eiffel Tower (gift from France) and the text down the side, the picture of the liberty bell, the torch in the room. The sea scorpion is the sea symbol of New York and the torn curtains look like the New York skyline. The numbers on the desk are the latitude and longitude and the broken chain at the bottom all lead to the Statue of liberty.

The real thing will be much more obscure - this is to entice us all and make us think we're in with a great chance. But PBers are the best in the world (me excluded) - so if anyone can do it - we're in with a good chance!

Excellent explaination Red (thanks for that), but there is a lot of other things in the picture that must NOT relate to it. For general information I would NEVER have got the curtain - very clever.

The numbers on the desk would probably have got me straight there, and the tower and torch would have leapt out. I didn't know about the scorpion and I may or may not have spotted the picture of the bell

Whereas, I got the bell and the torch, and with the text, that was enough. I didn't even realise there was a curtain! Had to go back and look for that. I'm thinking a combined effort would definitely be the way to go!!!!

Thanks for the explanation - I didn't realise the significance of the scorpion or the bell either.

I've found the official website too:-

Well that's what confused me - there were so many pictures that were representing the same thing that I wondered if it was all a complex red herring.

That was my thought especially when I spotted it could be a place, a thing, or a CONCEPT. Broken chain = freedom = liberty. I'm sure Buddah and Anubis could be pulled into a similar idea. [Doing this from memory - I've not got the picture in front of me]

No one seems to have mentioned all the map references which all led to places called Liberty or Freedom. Even with all the Liberty hints in the picture and the written clues the answer is still a little ambiguous though I'd been going with Statue of Liberty in New York since Sunday.

Don't worry Strep. I'll pay handsomely for clues to puzzles.  I'm not getting involved with this one - I'm hopeless at picture puzzles and knowing my luck it would all be too small for me to read anyway. But if you all end up rich and famous, please remember me...

They do a larger 'coffee table' edition. Amazon has it for £14.99 instead of £20.

My Treasure Hunt book has arrived  .
