Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Sun cannot penetrate my psoriasis at all! If it clears Im left with white patches as the melanin in my skin has been destroyed. So I put high factor on everywhere else apart from my psoriasis. Put some lavender oil in the bath - it helps calm it down (said by she who has arms like a crocodile at the moment). I took a massive flare after I got married - it was delayed stress. Another way of reducing it is to get yourself a Gill (yes our Gill from the forum) - she's the greatest de-stresser in the world!

I agree giraffe ..But your not supposed to get burnt. I did.... I was warned that because of the burning I may get a flair up, the last time I went for UV treatment I got to just short of 3 minutes after 6 weeks of going up3 times a week. That's what you get of being fair and living in Clydebankgiraffe wrote:That's weird because they prescribe UV lamps / sunbeds to help psoraisis!

The UV lamp cured the dark red rash my husband got that was from his psoraisis, but doesn't help the scaley white elbow patches as much.

Well, among other things today, I have been baking ginger biscuits in honour of the Great British Bake Off. I've started baking something every week that fits in with the theme. So I'll have to find an exciting pie recipe to try for next week. Shame I now have about 30 ginger biscuits to eat Ah well!

What a chore that must be, Laura...

Ginger is really good for you. In particular, it's anti emetic. So presumably, if you eat 30 ginger biscuits you won't feel sick!!

I've been welcoming our gorgeous grandson for a couple of weeks holiday..... (well, it's quite nice to see his parents as well ).
Wonderful to get a spontaneous hug when he arrived - as we don't see him so often we weren't sure how he would react to us.
So... not so much time for puzzling for a bit

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My daughter told me that rickets are returning in children because of factor 50 (This might be more applicable in Spain). They dont get enough sun onto their skin anymore to provide enough vitamin D. They are told to use no more than factor 30.I'm inclined to say that factor 50 is a good move whether you have a skin problem or not
However, they are also told not to give under 3's cow's milk and nursery age children are quite likely to still be eating pureed food!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Been to a concert this evening, K played piano and lots of other people played various things. It was a fundraiser for the mayor of Wolverhampton's charity. Got back to the car and found the passenger window smashed in and the window frame completely vandalised. Drove 20 miles home with chunks of plastic and glass falling off and a howling gale and rain coming in. K cut her finger on the glass. I'm really cross and still frozen. There was absolutely nothing of value in the car. They had looked in the glove box, but left the Harry Potter cds.

Oh how irritating, giraffe!! Do be very careful where you park the car. I'd strongly suggest parking it right up against a wall and then getting out of the other side of the car. When my car was broken into (they smashed out the doorlock) I was told that my insurance was invalid unless I did this.

Oh how annoying and irritating for you.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
It's on the front drive with a plastic bag over the hole, and the alarm is on. I don't have a wall to park against.
There was another man and his daughter from the concert who had parked just in front of me and theirs had been done too. He was an insurance broker! We swapped details. He had left a camera on the seat and went back to the car for it and said he saw a couple of lads and was glad he had gone back for the camera. Then they broke in!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
The insurance company asked me if it was secure and I said no and it was picked up within the hour.

OK - Admission of embarrassment. I thought the insurance company was advocating that as a general principle of parking your car
Hope things get sorted OK Giraffe

I sincerely hope not. I don't much enjoy having a gear stick stuck somewhere nasty...
