I actually can't quite believe we're already discussing the next time round when we've only just got back from this one, but there you go!!

Re: 2011 Meet
The sentiment is echoed Tricia We'll see what life brings. Oddly enough, for the number of different cities I've been to in my working life - somehow I've never been to Glasgow. I started working behind the bar in Whitley Bay (over 30 years ago) at the beginning of Glasgow fortnight, so I know the people from there are great, I've just never managed to visit the place.tricia wrote:Its only 2 1/2 hours by train to Glasgow

The truth of the matter is that Newcastle could be a very good puzzle-meet location - they've even brought the Turner Prize exhibition out from London to Gateshead (just across the river) so urgings to 'Travel North' are in the air already.
Although people say "no pressure" it is something I'd like to do - but I know if I put some time into it I could do it WELL. There are things I've seen in the city begging to be made into puzzles, and they are here and nowhere else. Life can be frustrating at times. I would love to 'host' a Meet but I want to do it properly!
[Damn..... I actually fell asleep typing this - which tells a story on it's own. This reply started well over an hour ago but I'll hit 'Submit' anyway ]

Re: 2011 Meet
The thing is, this last weekend illustrates perfectly that we don't actually NEED puzzles to make a meet (although, of course, SparkOut's quiz was lots of fun). Just as long as there are things to do and places to stay (preferably ones which DON'T assume that I will be entertaining gentlemen callers! ) then it's fine. And of course, people can either come for the day or for the whole thing, depending on time and availability.

Re: 2011 Meet
For those of you who came to the meet in Ashridge, and were watching Midsomer Murders tonight may have spotted that the location where we had Scurra pictured slumped by a tree with a pair of scissors stuck in him (Aldbury village pond) was being featured again tonight.

Oh that's a shame, I missed that.
Who actually stuck the scissors in him?
You do look jolly cheerful at the memory!
