LOL - a Dungeons & Dragons response if ever there was one.

I'll try and put plans in motion for this time slot. Driving would make sense for me so that's another car in the mix ;) Fingers crossed :!:

One of my favourites as well!

Apr 20th isn't good for me as we're planning to be in Devon the previous week - maybe we should have a rival gathering down there! (and no, that's not a serious suggestion before anyone tries to get me to organise it).
Not sure that we'd be able to come anyway - Sigur is more than a bit dubious about a toddler in a caravan... (after all, it's not possible to prevent him reaching controls for the cooker and other similar dangers, unlike at home, and he's not old enough yet to understand the danger, but is clever/tall enough to be curious)

Appreciate that 2 weekends in a row might be too much Eirian but can I put your caravan fears to rest. First of all while Thomas might be able to twiddle gas knobs, unless he managed to hold the knob in and press the ignite button at the same time nothing would happen. The gas would shut off. It does in mine anyway and no caravan you hired wouldn't have safety features as they are all modern (less than 6 years old). As for turning on hot water, the boilers can be set so they only deliver luke warm water if thats how you want it and the showers have an auto setting to body temperature so he couldn't scald himself. Showers are adjustable so that adults can have it hotter but if I said it took me weeks to work how to do it then he should be safe there too. It takes very little to trip the circuit breakers and most sockets are out of reach so that little fingers mainly cant get to them.

Speed limit on parks is 10mph and everyone is on the lookout for smallies. You could let a toddler out to play and they'd be safe. I also figured out why tourers always erect large flag type things. It so children can look up into the sky and identify where they are staying and just walk towards it if they get lost.

All entertainment pre 9pm is very child orientated too. Swimming pools have lifeguards, there is always a mother and child session and the pools are never very deep anyway. I think the deepest part of our pool is 1metre and there is a baby pool as well

Not sure about what possibilities I have to come anyway, but 20th April is an absolute definite no from me.

Like I said, don't take account of me, I came to the last two. If you want to make it a different date so that others can go, then please do.

Well also as I said, any other date may or may not be possible for me, and I won't know until much nearer the time, so don't adjust things on my account either.

I didn't say that only with regard to you (although I know for a fact that lots of people would love to meet you, and I'd love to see you again) but Eirian seemed to be saying she couldn't go then either. And I'm pretty sure that she hasn't been to a meet for a while. Well, I know I have never met her (great pity about that, too!!)

Yes, but if we changed the dates, I still wouldn't meet you! We'll just have to arrange a mini-meet sometime... And anyway, I don't need to have met you to know you are a friend, and always will be :)

Aw, that is such a sweet thing to say!! :) We will DEFINITELY have to meet up sometime! But honestly, I truly won't be put out if other dates suit more people better.

Yes, we have a significant family birthday (not mine yet... :D !), which we will be celebrating the previous weekend, so that date is fixed as far as the Brain family is concerned. However, I hope that Eirian and Sigur may still feel able to consider the possibility of coming across for the Meet if it is confirmed - at least for part of the time perhaps.
On the other hand, perhaps there is after all an argument for a future meet in Devon some time in the future , if we can co-incide it with certain people coming down in any case.... ;)

Eirian, I would love to meet you (and family) so I do hope you would consider coming over, even if only for part of the weekend. I do regret not seeing you at the previous Leeds meet when I couldn't go. :(

Well we were talking about 20th April I think. Unless any more people say they can't make it, in which case we may try for a different date?

I heard back from Looby who said she could do that weekend (but would prefer one in May).

Excellent. Lots of drunken debauchery to look forward to then. (Naturally I don't partake. I'm a good girl.)
