One thing which peeves me is when the shops start advertising for a festival just after the previous one has finished. We're only just past Christmas and it's not yet New Year, but the Creme Eggs are already out. And I read in the paper that Tesco is already selling Easter Eggs.

But there's one Easter anticipation which abstracts the abernethy.

Malteser MaltEaster Bunnies (bunny-shaped chocolate bars) on sale in Wilkinsons....

....on CHRISTMAS EVE!

Excellent choice, I'd say...

But I quite agree with you. It's mad, isn't it? It also drives me demented when I can't get summer clothes in the summer because they have autumn clothes on sale.

I generally agree, yet I fully approve of the fact that they now sell Cadbury's mini-eggs all year round. They're just a good sweet in a shape which happens to be associated with a particular time of year.

Today's fascinating fact about Creme Eggs. This is how they make them. The fondant starts off hard, and is then covered in the chocolate. They then inject enzymes into the fondant which partially digest it, making it runny inside.

Still want to eat them?

I've never been a creme egg fan - give me the mini-eggs everytime!! And I am now going to apologise for discussing eggs at this time of year......

But you're a penguin. So you're allowed to discuss eggs whenever you like...

i can understand why they're on sale
supermarkets used to have stock rooms with stock in them had to keep tabs on it etc.

now they try not to store stock
it comes in on the wagon and straight onto the shop floor
when i worked at one we received eggs pre Xmas and kept them in the space emptied by selling the Xmas stock

no stock room and similar delivery options mean shop floor displays as soon as they are in the branch

Just popped in to say still no Broadband at home (not BT fault, but if I had good the 4th person I spoke to 1st then maybe I would have had it by now), the last people in the flat have not cancelled their phone number and I don't know who it is with (it is not BT thought), so I have to have an engineer out. Hope to be back with you all by Friday.

Also if buying a kitchen trolley don't get the hygenia one even thought it is supposed to be better quality, btacket and back board broken.

Booked some men to come and resurface our drive. They were supposed to come on 19th December, but rang a week or so before and rebooked for today. They should have been here at 8.30. Took K to school early so that I would be here, put 2 cars on next door's drive, still no workmen. Rang and left a message at 10 past 9 on their mobile, which went straight to answer. Rang and left a message on their landline. No reply, no messages, nothing. If they turn up now I shall have to try very hard to be polite. Starting to wonder if they have gone bust, or run off to Spain with their last customer's money. It is just so rude to leave me sitting here wondering where they are. I tried to phone them yesterday to make sure they were still coming, but just got the answer machine.

Decided I'm glad I'm not standing outside in the horizontal rain and horrid wind directing men with pneumatic drills and diggers!

Just make sure the kettle is permanently on the boil - we got through more tea bags in 4 days than I normally use in weeks!

That's really bad strep. You'd think they could get to you before that when it's so new.

That is RIDICULOUS. Just what you DIDN'T need after all you have been through. :x

I had the same problem with a Zannussi washer drier a few years back. First the washing machine smashed itself to pieces (there was concrete all over the floor), and it took them 4 weeks to replace it, then they brought me a new one and the tumble drier caught light.

Rant, transferred from Today I've mostly... Please feel free to ignore this.
Short synopsis:
two and a half hours on a "immediate help line" being transferred from pillar to post with departments who don't appear to know their ar*e from their elbow... :x

My laptop, which I got LAST MARCH has had a recurring problem where it suddenly starts shutting down. Last October it happened and then wouldn't start back up. My friend ran all the Dell diagnostics on it, and rebuilt it and reinstalled it to factory settings. He also phoned Dell and asked them for suggestions / advice. Their advice was that it MUST be a software problem (and therefore not covered on the warranty). Well, the problem has recurred in total about 5 times to varying degrees. So I decided to ring Dell. THAT was 2 and a half hours ago.  I went through all the things which had been done with it, including the fact that the Dell Diagnostics had been run AGAIN yesterday, and that it had said that there wasn't anything wrong. The lady I spoke to couldn't speak English clearly, which didn't help, and she insisted that I ran the diagnostics again. She then said "it must be a software problem. I will transfer you to software". The man in software said that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES could this be software and transferred me back. (Now starting to FUME). Man in hardware (again with thick accent) said that they could get someone to pick it up (I would have to wait in for them, any time between 9-6), they would take it away and keep it for 10 days, then I would have to be in between 9-6 for them to return it, and they couldn't guarantee to fix it. So would I like to pay £120 for three year warranty to get someone to my house to fix it?

At this point I went into orbit, loudly, and for a very prolonged period.

Oh look, now they can send an engineer "as a gesture of goodwill" on MONDAY to my house and waive the cost.

Amazing.

Abso-blimming-lutely so they should! :o
Surely it is still under warranty if it is under a year old?

Let's hope they sort it out for you.
