Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Did something radicle today. As Ive mentioned previously I had an adverse reaction to a tablet which caused marked hair loss. This morning I got fed up looking like the wild woman of Borneo - so I phoned my hairdresser who said come up at lunch time and he would see what he could do. So at lunch time I went to see John and he said to me - "what do you want to do?". So I said Cut it and when do you want me to come in. He said sit in the chair now ...........................................
So I have a fantastic very short hair cut which hides the hair loss . When I went back to work - quite a few said it took years off me and many did a double take at the transformation. I must admit I like the new style

Good for you. So long as you're happy with the result then you've got a winning situation.
Such a change will take a little getting used to for those that know you, but this sounds like a good solution to your 'problem'.
Hopefully this combined with your injection last week will give you a new spring in your step. Enjoy the result.
We need a before and after shot to judge it properly

Quite right. It's amazing what a change a haircut can do. (I'm in desperate need of one, I look like a shaggy dog). I think I may be at the age where I oughtn't to be having such long hair. Otherwise I'm in danger of that awful thing where from behind people thing I'm younger, then get to the front and find the "surprise old bag"!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Thank you for your kind words, Wulfruna. I'll remember that one...
I've just had all my friends round for coffee and a fabulous carrot, lemon and ginger cake made by my daughter (she is such a sweetie!).
Have been properly spoiled, got lots of lovely presents (necklaces, scented candles, earrrings, a scarf, a wonderful large scale map book, one of those things which you put on your lap to stop your laptop overheating, some new jeans, vouchers and a sat nav!!! )
Very soon off for a meal at a pub in a local village. As usual, my birthday has spread over several days...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Yes, they are a good idea. I was using a tray, but that wasn't very comfortable to have on my lap.
Now I have my own sat nav AND a large scale map thing, I have no excuses for getting lost when we go to Withensea...

OK - so what does that make us guys?
Today (yesterday) we bin introducing Maisie to her new home. I'm not going to say anything in case I jinx things - but so far, so good.
Lots of items we take for granted that she may not have seen in the sheltered life of racing. She startled at the first view of a mirror - but now she likes seeing herself It is strange having such a big dog in the house after little Jennie.
I've got a few days off work to deal with progressive solitude training to let her know that even when she's left alone we WILL come back to her. Also I'll be resetting her food and toilet clock to suit our lifestyle.
More on Maisie as time goes on - and I've no doube a photo or two
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Congratulations on the safe arrival of Maisie!

Hope Maisie settles in soon - Olly is a rescued cat and he took over the house very quickly. I am sure Maisie will do also. Look forward to the pictures

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I'm sure it'll soon seem like she was never NOT there.
I think a house is not really a home without a pet (even if my cat is completely mental and the tortoise is just about driving us all mad - he is currently stomping around my kitchen. Every now and again he manages to escape and you feel a tortoise walking across your foot when you're watching telly...) The trouble with him is that he was originally a wild tortoise who was imported, so had the taste for freedom. Consequently you can't keep him in a tank like you can tortoises which are bred in captivity). What I really need is for someone to invent a tortoise nappy, and all would be well.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I have a feeling we may also be in the running for a dog share- if not a dog in its entirity. I really dont want to have a dog again, but as some of you may already know, my friend is having her second cancer battle. Diesel is a problem because she cant walk him as he's quite a big stupid dog and she's walking very slowly with a stick. (Cancer in her hip bone and lungs, considered terminal but cointainable, although not curable).
I can't possibly hide this from OH as it is bound to come up in conversation- probably tomorrow when he comes to take me back to Leeds. His reaction will be that he will have him permanently and take Diesel to visit Janette whenever. My other friend and I have already offered to take him for a run on the beach whenever we are in With. but that doesn't solve the problem of the times when neither of us are here. She has 2 sons but they are equally a waste of space. Janette told us today she was going pay someone to mow her lawn and sort her flower beds and at the same time handed over her bank card to one of her sons to go buy his daughter some new clothes!

Getting to know Maisie and things are going suspiciously well. She's a doll.
Her mad half-hour lasts 10 minutes. She's clean and quiet. She does yoga and is very peaceful In the house.
A couple of photos but no manipulation software, so ilk ask Scurra to do the honours and shrink them.

Ooh goodness that's hard to see (still big while I'm looking) but it looks like you have a totally soppy dog.
On the other hand, I have a maniacal cat. She has been in the washing basket for the past hour. Every time I try to get her out of it she bites me, and then purrs.
