Depends on your definition of 'behave' really. No-one did anything really bad or stupid, but when you have 14 sleep-deprived little girls in the same house for a weekend, there's always some combination of grumpiness and hyperactivity which means that there are lots of disagreements and annoyances. But we all survived, and we're not saying 'Never Again' which often happens (we always do go again. They say it takes 6 months to get over one trip and 6 months to plan the next, which is why you end up going about once a year!).

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Going to Southampton to pick up my friend's daughter from uni. Managed to squeeze in taking her out for lunch before we came back. I was a bit concerned that the traffic on the M25 would be horrific because of the holiday weekend, but it was fine. Phew.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
...Annoying all the neighbour by operating our new woodchipping machine*. Certainly saved on buying bags of bark chippings, and helped to reduce the wood mountain at the end of the garden. It is actually unbelievable how little space it takes up once you've shredded it. Oh, and there is something very satisfying about munching up trees.
*Thing is, the neighbours I care about are all old and deaf, so won't mind. The ones with the noisy dog, trampoline, irritating child and who park across my driveway all the time just deserve all they get...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My SIL has a neighbour who's spent all day with a power hose cleaning his driveway. Much to the annoyance of another neighbour who doesn't have double glazing. She wants to know why, since he's retired, he doesn't do it during the week when everyone is at work, instead of waiting till they are off work and wanting to have a peaceful day!
.... spending too much money on Thomas's birthday presents. Can't believe it's less than a month till he's 3! We managed to find both Woody & Buzz from Toy Story on offer. Now all we've got to do is keep them somewhere he won't find them!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
As his doting Grandma (who has another whole week to wait before he arrives to visit.... ), I have been interested to notice how many toys are marked as 'suitable for 3+' - so we have been waiting quite a while for the magic day to arrive
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I think that is a legal thing, about toys with small parts. They are quite often suitable in other ways before that, it all depends on whether the child puts everything in their mouth.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
THREE???? How on Earth did THAT happen??? And yes, I think we probably do need a new photo...
Mind you, my little (6'4") soldier is 22...
I must admit that normally I wouldn't be so inconsiderate (noise wise) on a holiday. I always get irritated by old people who insist on going to Tesco on Saturdays (nothing wrong with that) but then STAND in the aisles with their trolleys diagonally placed blocking the route while they chat to people they meet. Anyway, I'm looking forward to being an old person myself so I can inflict the same on other working people...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My husband just bought me a COW shaped Easter egg. Do you think he's trying to tell me something? My children both bought me rabbits, so I now have a complete chocolate menagerie.
Happy Easter everyone.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I got socks. Anyone else have this Easter tradition? As children we each had a cardboard egg and we got frilly white socks in it to wear to church on Easter morning. The tradition has now morphed into silly socks. I have four pairs this year; spotty; pink, blue and green stripey; blue and orange walking socks; and little yellow socks with palm trees.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Our children love having socks in their Christmas stockings, the sillier the better, so all year I collect socks as and when I see them and then divide them up at Christmas.
If we ask for a Christmas list from them it always starts
SOCKS
CHOCOLATE
and as they aren't very demanding sometimes that is all that is on it!

I'm now picturing your son with white hair, long white beard, half-moon glasses, and a tendency to meddle [Maybe some wild-coloured robes for next Christmas?]

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I think it's a Harry Potter reference. Dumbloedore says he always asks for socks but people will insist on buying him books.
(I'm slightly concerned about how much of those books I know.)

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I was thinking Dumbledore looking in The Mirror of Erised although he has a preference for sweets over chocolate
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Aah, thanks. I did wonder about Dumbledore but I'd forgotten about the socks.

So perhaps he is part werewolf too?
