OK I've spent some of today sorting out rubbish from my room. And I am HORRIFIED at some of the rubbish I keep. Today, for example, I found loads of envelopes containing all of my children's milk teeth (the tooth fairy gave them to me).

They had things written on them like
"D's botam toosh"
So come on, confess. What stupid things have you lot hoarded? Or is it just me?

This is getting worse. I've just discovered my husband appears to be hoarding marmalade jars for no obvious reason...

I've also found I have kept 12 black permanent markers, completely unopened. Why on EARTH would I have bought 12 permanent markers? Mind you, I also found an old diary and I've been crying with laughter at the stupid things I used to do before I became old and boring.
EDIT oh yes, and I have also found someone's Christmas present I'd forgotten all about.

Do you know what? I reckon I need a house keeper. I'm hopeless at all this domestic stuff.

I am a hoarder and it drives my husband mad. Mind you, I'm not as bad as his dad who has 2 loo u-bends in his shed 'just in case...'. Ok, nowhere near your family's hoarding skills, Bunny, but quite enough for Sigur & his mum!

Yes, I'm one too. I have three children's worth of teeth.

I have no idea why I kept them, they are quite gruesome to me, so why have I kept them wrapped in tissue in the drawer? I need to have a sort out.

I also had a load of baby teeth, but then I realised that they had become muddled and I didn't know who they all belonged to so I threw most of them away.
I am worst at hoarding books. I hardly ever throw or give any away so we have stacks all over the place. And several boxes in the attic from when we needed to make more room on our bookcases. I doubt that hardly any of them will get read again but somehow I just can't bear to get rid of them.

Me too..... (where do you think Eirian inherited it from?

).
A major exercise for me was the need to down-size a few years ago on retirement, which involved moving from a sizeable Manse (provided by the Church) to a modest 3-bed semi. It was physically impossible to bring everything!
I was forced to look critically at all the junk I had accumulated over years and be realistic about what might actually be needed in future.
Well that was the theory - but I still seem to have mounds of stuff that hasn't been touched since we moved.....
- however, I never thought of hanging on to baby teeth (just in case anybody was hoping for a genuine Scurra relic

)

When D's parents were alive they took boxes and boxes of stuff from the loft in Hertfordshire when they moved to Dundee. They then moved again to Bolton with said boxes and finally back to Hertfordshire again before his mu went through them. It turned out that it was mostly D's stuff so she insisted we took it. And amongst these "treasures" (broken action men, train set etc.) was a little pot. Containing, guess what? D's milk teeth!!
I feel quite left out that we don't have mine as well...

My brother's just disposed of 12000 grub screws from the garage. Who would have that many grub screws?

Well, you never know when you might need to screw a grub, I must say...

So is that what your family does in it's spare time?

OOps, I probably should have said "screw
down"
Apologies to those forum members who are easily shocked!! In fact, for your future wellbeing you should probably never read any of my posts. They are sometimes very bad for the heart.
