I had wondered if I could persuade N to go to the show At Loseley Park but didn't bother in the end as I doubt I would have managed to tear him away from the golf on TV. Would have been funny if I'd bumped into you there!

I probably could have got you in free as well, if I'd tried hard enough.

I'm back at work today after two LONG days at the Sunderland International Air Show. The computer bus is a regular attendee giving access to the computers and promoting the Council and Library services to all who pass. [The main job I seem to have is pointing people towards the toilets, cash points, and people selling the souvinire programmes  ]

Sneaking in computer teaching with kids (and their parents) where I could - but generally a great atmosphere and a stunning arial show.

Due to the road closures I needed to be on site early and then stuck until 'freed' to drive off - so a long weekend in all.

I'm now betting my 'pushy' sister would have found her way into the V.I.P section and would have ended up chatting up a Royal Marine Commando

The arena show (including the Commando display team) were good and the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers provided an interesting selection of music..... which I've just happend to find ------ here:

I remembered to get a day booked off for tomorrow to break the fortnight up - but of course everything I should have done over the weekend needs doing tomorrow

What other possible reason would there be to going to an airshow?? Sounds like a busy weekend, MBH. Shame you still have boring stuff to do today, and can't sit in the sun a while...

It's been blisteringly hot today. And I've been hacking brambles down for about 5 hours. Fortunately for him, my OH is working in Poole, so he isn't here to smell me!!  I'm so kna""""ered I can't summon up the energy to go upstairs to have a much needed shower.

It's been raining here for months and months, but it's been really nice for the past couple of days.

I have sunburn. Went for a 6 mile walk this morning. Took a sortcut which turned out to be longer than the original route. Metaphor, anyone?

  My friend Janet is the world's worst for suggesting shortcuts which end up being longcuts. The problem is that I am such a mug that I always fall for it, because on the whole she has a good sense of direction, whereas I don't. The worst one was so bad and we were getting so late that when we came to a river we needed to get across, we actually ended up making a bridge from branches!! The really hysterical part was that we ended up coming out on the road about 100 yards from where we'd started, about 3 hours previously....as you can imagine she's never quite lived that one down.

BTW - remember I showed you all the video of our school's Rock Challenge dance? Apparently, yesterday, they won the UK final. :D Just in case you missed it, this was the dance.

...packing for a trip to Devon :D

hopefully we'll be ready to go in about an hour or so, once we've taken the cats to the cattery. Thomas's face was a picture this morning when told 'we're going on a long car journey to visit grandma and grandad'. Oh, he just grinned!

.... Setting up the bus for the first of two sessions today. Houghton Rectory Park Fun Day organized by the local housing group from now to mid-day, then a quick drive down to the city centre for the Hendon Community Together activity day.

Wednesday seems to be 'Fun Day' for me this summer - I've got an event to go to for the next 4 weeks. Never sure how many (if any) people will visit me, but I'm here as an extra 'activity' to see if I can catch some interest.

Right NOW I'm using the chance to actually look here on the Forum - I seem to have no time to myself at the moment :(

...packing. Off to Portugal tomorrow (hopefully). Stephen has been really ill, so we've not been sure if we would have to cancel, but yesterday the doc said that if he continues to improve we should be able to go.

Oh, sorry to hear Stephen's been ill - nothing too serious, I hope. And have a lovely holiday!! :D

MBH right, mental note. Wednesdays is fun day in Northumberland. Will that be the highlight of my holiday there??   I must say that I was slightly alarmed. K's fiancée's parents told us the other day that they went to Northumberland last year and definitely wouldn't go back. Still, I'm sure I will find some charming places. I usually do - the only county I've visited so far and really WASN'T impressed with was Norfolk, but that's because it's so FLAT. I like my hills!

... looking for a cat...
we've had to delay our trip down by a day as one of the cats decided to go missing. He never does that. Been walking around the neighbourhood all morning trying to find him.
We've got a very disappointed little boy, but hopefully Du will turn up in time for tea and we'll be able to go tomorrow instead.

That's annoying :( Did you leave your schedule lying around with the word 'cattery' on it?

Hope he shows up soon and you get sorted out.

He's turned up now, so, assuming he doesn't do the same vanishing trick tomorrow we'll be able to go down then. It's just a shame it means one less day for Wulfruna to go gooey over her grandson!

I'm quite sure that cats have a sixth sense. Mine only does the missing act when I'm thinking about putting that spot on flea stuff on her!! The rest of the time I can't get rid of her!! We never put our cat into a cattery - I always manage to convince some unsuspecting individual to come and feed her. And you can guarantee that the moo will choose that time to bring in mice and live birds. Last time my friend spend about an hour trying to capture a blue tit which was flying around the living room!!
