Yes, I have. Fingers, toes, eyes and anything else which I am capable of crossing (probably more things that I'd like to admit, these days!! )Please everybody keep your fingers crossed for her!

Are you sure that the two of you should be let loose in China
Really hope it all sorts itself out soon

Spoke to my daughter last night and she has a friend who taught English in China last year and is going out again this year - but has been delayed because of problems with her visa!
There's no point in having a last minute if you don't use it!

...Timetabling...aaarrrrgggghhh....like the worst logic puzzle in the history of the universe. As each day goes by my brain gets a bit slower until I am rather like someone with senility - "What am I doing? Where was I putting that? Which kid is it I'm supposed to be doing? Who am I?" When I've done this delightful task I will be back to sifting through hundreds of job applications AGAIN. Oh, the joys. Anyone want a job?

Sounds like my kind of challengeBunnylump wrote:...Timetabling...aaarrrrgggghhh....like the worst logic puzzle in the history of the universe.
I'm back to work tomorrow - I have actually had a week off 'recharging my batteries' and trying to catch up on sleep. The fact is that with that time I got NO puzzles looked at (never mind progressed).
Looks like it's been quiet on the forum too - so everyone must be busy.

In Guildford, watching the end of the last stage of the tour of Britain. What a great Tour. A lot of international competition but Mark Cavendish won the last stage, and overall (gold jersey) winner, king of the mountains, and best sprinter all British. Even without Wiggo who withdrew sick on Thursday.

Travelling back from London, having been to see the recording of Miranda at the bbc last night. I've been sworn to secrecy about what actually went on, but I can say it was very, very good, and I would definitely recommend going to see something being filmed. It was a really interesting experience.

Aw - I'd have loved to have seen that. I think she's, "what I call" hysterical. Or should I say "such fun!!"??
I'm every bit as good at doing comedy falling overs as she is... AND when I was young, I actually used to do the "knee bend" thing when I was being chatted up by shorter men...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Talking of comedy falling over we have a real life comedy going on here.
My friend fell over her dog's lead 18 weeks ago and broke her foot. She still has a cast with no signs of getting it off for at least another month and even then she may need the bone pinned. Yesterday, her husband came off his brand new electronic bicycle and broke his foot too. We have 2 of them in plaster casts, neither of them able to drive, both in Withernsea and live in Wakefield but have to attend Hull hospital. The hospital is 75mins by bus but neither of them can walk to the bus stop- or even walk to the hospital once they get to Hull.
Today's mission is for all of us to timetable our movements and adjust them to fit with their various appointments, shopping needs, get them to Wakefield and back again when needed etc.
There are 2 people who aren't seeing the funny side of this at all but the rest of us can't contain our laughter.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My s-i-l is still trapped at home with her broken leg. She's not allowed to put any weight on it (remember - this is the woman they wouldn't send an ambulance to because it "wasn't an emergency"??) The problem is that she is bored stiff. So all she's been able to do is KNIT. Last time I went round I got presented with a knitted snowman (yes really.) I was relaying this at the family do on Sunday, and my niece rummaged in her bag. "Was it like this one?"

I think she views my puzzling with about as much enthusiasm as I view her knitting...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Giving a statement to the police about a burglary that happened to a neighbour last Monday. It took an hour to tell them for the fourth time that I had seen a man, and I had seen a car, but couldn't give a very accurate description of either. Had a long discussion with WPC after I said "He wasn't very tall, no more than 5 feet 10" as to how to define tall. She is 5 feet and thinks of her 5 ft 9 husband as tall apparently! Good news is they have 2 men in custody and think they are about to arrest the third.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I've spent the morning making Christmas cakes.
Glad it wasn't you that was burgled giraffe, it's a despicable thing to do to anyone. At least they have them in custody.
