The same things you buy for 7-year old boys. :D (Well, the clothes sizes might need to be larger but the principle holds.)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

 I thought I bought Dibble things like Lego and Transformers when he was 7. Having said that, these two might quite like Lego or transformers still... It's both of my nephews who are giving me trouble. One is at least 6 foot 5 and the size of the honey monster, and a total chav, the other one is about the width of your average twiglet and is 6 foot three, who likes that sort of horrible dirgy "music to slit your wrists to"....

Not sure I can help then. My son wants clothes (like a belt and shirts and ties) plus more socks and underwear so he doesn't have to do a load of washing so often!
He also asked for speakers for his ipod and for me to type out some of the favourite recipes I think he might like to make himself.
I think at seven he would have been rather bored with all of the above. But chocolate is always welcome too.

I'm just looking up cardigans (K said she wanted one). There appears to have been an alien take over of the descriptions of cardigans...WHAT on Earth is a "cocoon" cardigan / a "Lipsy boyfriend cardigan" or...wait for it... a "waxed rib" cardigan :? ?

Can you tell I don't go shopping much?

No idea, never heard of any of those.
Where do you go shopping for them?

Well, we are hitting Milton Keynes (mainly because it's traditional, but also because they have good places for coffee and lunch... )

aah, that was really what I meant when I asked where you bought such things. It didn't sound like M&S to me!

I will be trying to avoid a visit to Hollister though this time. The most horrific shop I have EVER been in - so dark you can't see what colour or price anything is, and such loud music that you can't hear the embryonic size zero sales assistant trying to tell you what colour things are or how much they cost...

How about matching t-shirts / hoodies with the wording:

This afternoon I've had a lovely time watching and listening to the Northern Sinfonia Christmas Concert at The Sage (Gateshead). Even better it was as guests of Sir Peter and Lady Margaret Vardy [a nicer and more down-to-earth pair you couldn't hope to meet  ].

Joining the Norther Sinfonia and their Chorus we also had the younger singers - The Quay Voices (mixed, older children), The Quay Lads, and The Quay Lasses. Some lovely solos and of course all the old favourite Carols to sing along to.

I've got a hectic week coming up with something 'extra' to do every day in addition to the normal work - so I'll see you when I see you ;)

... getting far too much contact with local anesthetic (for my liking) Last week it was the removal of (another) tooth, and today it was the eventual removal of a very large sebacious cyst from my back.

This little thing has been slowly growing just below my soulder blade for YEARS, but I felt that over time it had slowly grown bigger.

Finally asked the doctor to deal with it, andtoday I was walking into an NHS clinic and they numbed my back and dug it out. I've got 4 stitches and a plaster keeping it clean and dry - so NOW I'm off to see if I can find a position comfortable enough to SLEEP in.

Goodnight :) (I know - wrong thread)

Wow mbh - when you said you'd got a hectic week coming up, you didn't mention all that!

And here's me feeling sorry for myself just because I've got a frightful cold (well, it is the worst I've had for some years.....). No voice, rough throat, fuzzy head, popping ears, streaming nose and general aches -and spent most of last night getting out of bed every half an hour or so to blow my nose...... Still, at least I'll get it over and done with before Christmas - though it has interrupted my shopping plans somewhat :( .

Hey - I've just noticed that this is page 400 of this thread. Surely a landmark to be noted?    And just two more posts after this will be 8,000 :o Now who will make that one, I wonder???

MBH - hope you managed to find a comfortable position to sleep - as Bunny says - hope everything mends quickly....

..... Wulfruna - think I know (unless she is out and about enjoying herself this evening/making more Christmas Cards - dealing with not having enough envelopes of the right side - doing good things with great kids??) who I would bet on being the 8,000th post.....and hope that cold goes soon!!

...... and getting back to "today I've mostly bin..." ...... sorry - but running around...... trying to finish off last minute bits for work, .......and eventually PACKING :D...... off to some sunnier climes for Christmas!! - and hoping to have a mini PB meet in HK - on route!!

So ... wishing everyone a really happy Christmas..... have fun!

...I've bin
at work, then going to London Colney with K for last bits of Christmas shopping (yay!) coming home, having a take away with K and OH, then she had us SINGING!!! :o She printed off some four part harmonies for Nowell, Nowell. Unfortunately, we only had the three of us here (she has plans to involve Dibs with this over Christmas - he gets tenor!!) and even more unfortunately for me I got the soprano part to sing (too high for me really, and especially difficult with hiccoughs! ). Anyway, she recorded it, and I've just left it as a mysterious answerphone message for Dibs...  That'll confuse him....

I've decided we are the singing Von Ellises...and I reckon I'd look pretty appropriate in a nun's outfit! 8-)

Hope you have a WONDERFUL holiday, Chazzie!! (I take it you are visiting Katsmom??)

Wulf and MBH get well soon!

It's school concert season here. F's school tonight, and on Thursday unfortunately the girls both have their concerts :( K is playing a clarinet solo, so I bought tickets for the whole family to that, then found Lally's was the same night, but I wasn't too bothered as she was only in the orchestra, until they put her in a woodwind sextet, which I would love to see. :( It is probably K's last school concert, certainly last solo, and I'm hoping Lally will have more opportunities in the future.
