Stoled Christmas Quiz

#1 Post by MBH » Wed Dec 19, 2012 12:20 pm

I've just seen this on the Intranet, and figure it should be shared amongst my friends who like this sort of thing. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to do anything daft like sending it into the competition (from the far-flung corners of the country).

Obviously there are no answers - but from a browse through I got quite a few, so as a gang we can crack it easily just for fun with a sensible use of 'spoiler' masking.

Here's my stab at the movies:

A. Miracle on 34th Street
B. not got the faintest idea for this one
C. The Polar Express
D. White Christmas (possibly)
E. Arthur Christmas
F. Trading Places (possibly)
G. Jingle all the Way
H. Elf
I. absolutely no idea at all
J. It's a Wonderful Life
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

And the songs (I THINK)
1. Good King Wenceslas looked out.................on the feast of Stephen
2. Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul ............................. with a corncob pipe and a button nose
3. Joyful all ye nations rise............................join the triumph of the skies
4. When we were gone astray.....................................Oh tidings of comfort and joy??
5. Come and behold him born the King of angels; ...................................Oh come let us adore hi-im
6. Deck the halls with boughs of holly, ......................................Tra la la la la, la la la la?!
7. I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus ............................not sure
8. You better not cry .............................you better not pout
9. We'll frolic and play ..........................walking in a winter wonderland

(I will have forgotten all these in a month's time, but having just been to my daughter's choir of squiddly diddlies aged 6-10 singing these, they are mostly etched in my brain! )

Totally agree with both parts of Giraffe's corrections (Where did you THINK she was kissing Santa? :o )

Since it's a continuation line I had 9 as The Eskimo way [but you had the right song]

This was one section I could 'do' without referring to anything else :D
