Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Oh, you poor love! That sounds dreadful. Hope you start to get better really quickly and can return to your normal self ASAP. I'm fed up too because as soon as I broke up for Christmas holidays, I got hideous tonsillitis which lasted for two weeks. I broke up for half term this week, and guess what? I have tonsillitis again.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Yes, so the summer term will be a nightmare from hell. At least the weather looks good today!! Here's hoping it lasts so I can get out and about. Yesterday, Janet was babysitting her Godson all day (he's just over one) so we went out for a walk with him in the pushchair and took him to the swings, because it was such a beautiful day. I'd forgotten how all-consuming babies are!! Sweet little boy though, lovely gingery hair and big brown eyes! But I think I will have to hone my child minding skills for the future if I ever get any grandchildren!! I'd forgotten all about the "throwing the gloves out of the pram / looking like you're eaten the piece of banana but have actually spat it down your top / going rigid when it is time to get back in the pram after the swings" scenarios!!

Men...look away now...boring talk about shopping...
Having a successful shopping trip (shock horror report). I bought this dress, http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk ... 3531260208which FITS and looks nice, and actually managed to find some matching blue stiletto shoes, in the sale, for £20. What I CAN'T find is a bolero / jacket in the right blue. Anyone seen anything anywhere? I have until the end of next month to find something - when my friend gets married. So if you see anything suitable on your travels, give me a shout please?

Lovely dress Bunny. Have you thought about changing the sash and having a co-ordinating colour jacket and sash if you can find one. There are lots of shades in there.

Actually, that's not such a bad idea, Gill. I quite like the plum colour in there...thanks!

Just got back from seeing the Matthew Bourne production of Sleeping Beauty which was really good. The baby Aurora was particularly cute especially when she climbed up a curtain on the stage.

Sounds good, LAT.
I've bin out to St Albans with my friend. We walked from one side to the other, which included a walk right along the Roman wall which has snowdrops and miniature clematis all along it. It was a lovely sunny day, and we managed a picnic in the Cathedral walled garden sitting in the sunshine.

Oh, how nice. I was at work for the whole of the nice part of the day. A colleague went to the bank and came back and said

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Been to see Lincoln at a freezing cold cinema. I would say that it was: interesting, a very good performance from Daniel Day Lewis, and refreshingly restrained. It dealt with the issue of slavery not by looking at it directly, but by looking at the attitudes surrounding it. I wouldn't, however, rave about it or particularly extol you to dash out to see it...although...it is entirely possible that my viewpoint has been unreasonably clouded by the fact that DDL as Lincoln reminded me, the whole way through the film, of Scurra. It was something about his lean, craggy face with the beard and the twinkly eyes with an devilish sense of humour waiting to spring out at any moment...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Thank you, lovely ladies, for all your helpful comments re my jacket / bolero search. I have now found a plum coloured bolero-style jacket (even better, in the sale!) which goes just right. I really appreciated all the input. It's great here, isn't it? You can even get fashion advice!! Brilliant.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Are you serving the stuffed zebra with vegetables or on its own?

They are both on my list.
But the male lion comes next, followed by an elephant.
And to giraffe - I think I'd have to be very hungry to eat this zebra.

I am guessing that it's a model of some kind? Some sort of soft toy version of Whipsnade?

There will eventually be another of each animal, plus a man and his wife (but not his three sons with their wives)
Rather upset that there are no cats.
