Thanks to both of you! And to those who wished me a happy birthday on Facebook. I think/hope I have thanked you there but I'm still not entirely sure I know what I'm doing on FB.
Had a lovely day - I swapped my work days so I could go up to London and get taken out for lunch.

Re: Happy Birthday
Many Happy Returns LAT (I missed it too - not that Facebook would ever be a help in my case).
Re: Happy Birthday
Happy birthday LAT - glad you were able to make a good day of it
Re: Happy Birthday
Down to earth with a bump today.
There was a bad accident somewhere and I got badly delayed getting to work so I was late arriving. Then when I got there someone pointed out that I had a flat tyre!
Luckily there is a tyre place next door to the office and they sorted it for me but I am now £61 poorer.
At lunchtime I banged my head while getting out of the car.
Then this afternoon I somehow broke off one of the little bits on my glasses that sits on my nose.
Ever had one of those days when you just want to start all over again?
But I got home to find a card from my daughter. Fairly good timing really considering the vagaries of the Chinese postal system. We have sent things to her which have taken a couple of months to arrive so getting a card to me one day late is pretty good!

Re: Happy Birthday
Just a little tip Lat. We've had problems getting mail to Katsmom in Hong Kong in the past. I started writing little "love" letters on her envelope . Something quite simple like " Please Mr Postie get me here as fast as you can" and signed it with a heart. I believe her postie stopped her and put one issue in her hand and said that it had made his day and that every envelope should have messages on them. Katsmom can confirm this more precisely. I think she got one issue at least on the same day as the rest of you!! I don't think she's had any delayed post since we made this the norm.
