Yes, I'm well up for this.

I already know, however, that I am busy the late May BH weekend. But any other time count me in.

I also like Scurra's idea. I really enjoyed working out the puzzles we had with other people there.

Anyone got any more thoughts on this?

I'm now pretty comprehensively booked up at the beginning and end of August, might be able to squidge something in the middle at a push... End of July I'm stuck here having all new windows and doors fitted.

Just me for a PB meet all on my own then?? MBH are you up for a visitation? If so, when? Although it looks like it's just me right now, there's a scary thought for you...

You're always welcome Sis :)

The only way I can play (for the forseeable future) is if you guys come visit me, so I'm up for the idea of hosting a meet here. I've got an original puzzle trail 80% done - but as it is my dodgy mind you're exploring I'm not sure if that is an enticement.

It has been VERY quiet in regard to a meet this year. I think everyone has other things on their mind.

I've been quiet about this years meet because we are spending so much time in Withernsea this summer and its not so easy to get to places as it is from Leeds. In fact its a pain.

If you were to host it MBH then I can kill 3 birds with one stone. I can go back to Leeds and check the house, continue up to the meet and then visit my mother at the same time -with the bonus of going back to the house on the way back.

Depends when you would think of holding it though. I have summer commitments too.

There *may* be an opportunity for a Leeds mini meet next week. Just sayin'. May.

I'd love a mini meet. When "may" it be possible? I have to go back to Leeds next week but I can pick my day(s).

I know why this thread is so quiet - you're scared of the unpopulated and desolate environment up here.

Just as well we have a sense of humour. ;) [NOT going 'political', but too good to miss] :D

Has a date and precise (ie precise enough for people to look into travel and accommodation options) location been mentioned? If so I must have missed it.

Well, I said I would come and that seemed to scare everyone else off so I shut up. MBH do you have any possible dates? Or dates you definitely can't do?

Whenever we pick I may not be around all the time playing "Mein Host", but you're all a self-sufficent bunch. It looks like each weekend there might be interruptions, but any weekend could be made to work.

I'm guessing you want to do this before school gets back in session (or put it off until later in the year) - but the weekend including September 7th or 21st would not be good. Weather can't be guaranteed regardless of the time picked, but I do have my fingers crossed for the quayside walk on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

If I was going to come I almost certainly wouldn't drive so I would need to know where I had to get to, what options there were when up there for getting to wherever we were hoping to visit, and an idea of when is being considered as I imagine to get a reasonable deal both travel and accommodation would be best booked fairly well in advance.

What dates are being considered?
And what railway station/airport would be most convenient?

A couple of quick answers there. Newcastle Central Station is on the East Coast main line and good deals can be done in advance through thetrainline.com. I never consider flying but Newcastle Airport is out of the city but has a link with the Metro underground/overground system.

I can make enquiries about places to stay, but need an idea of what style different people like. We have all the 'big names' up here and I'm known a bit at the Copthorne. [Face price is high, but LateRooms often have good deals]

Can I just add a little bit to this. If the date is OK for me I will be there. I will stay with my mum in Jesmond Vale ( A mile or so out of the city centre and I will be driving. A taxi from the airport will be costly into the city centre but there is a metro link. MBH is the other side of the city centre. MBH, are there still B & B's on Osborne Road in Jesmond or shall I get my mum to find out? I'm thinking that IF I can attend then I could transport around 3 other people if they stayed central or in the Jesmond area. .

Yes Gill. Jesmond is still bar and hotel city. It would give a nice place to stay with directions to Jesmond Dene added into the mix, but I don't know how noisy it gets as it's not an area I visit.

With planning I can do taxi service too - I am 'across the river.. and along... and up the hill' but I'm in and out of Newcastle all the time.

We have country, city, and coast to play with - so really spoilt for choice (although the coast is an extra distance if we're keeping the group together).

Using LateRooms as a resource, and putting a Jesmond postcode in the first dozen are within half a mile. Just had a laugh as I switched to 'show results on map', and it shows me a coastline with the top 10 results. 1 in Ghana and the other 9 in Nigeria

[Spoilsport Voice] Possibly it used the postcode NE2 1PR as some sort of map co-ordinate [/Voice]

Whenever I ask Google maps for directions from home it gives me me a list of Puerto Rican restaurants. I have no idea why as I have never even considered going to one.
I will probably be up in the north east several times in the near future, but may not be available for puzzling. So I have been keeping quiet to see what you all arrange. Will know more after the 15th .
