...Making a spreadsheet with formulae in it which sorts stuff and all kinds of fancy things. MBH you would have been proud of me.
I've also bin...flying about the place getting signatures and witnesses and title deeds sorted to take to the solicitor. The receptionist was so dopey he certainly didn't inspire any confidence that the sale will go through smoothly. I've ALSO bin practising a piece to (wait for it) SING at Ali's wedding on Saturday. I'm actually a pretty carp singer but it's with K (who's playing the piano too, and D.) So we're going to be like the Von Trapps...should I dress up like this, do you think?

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Good for you That is the essence of my problem with what I create.. the mechanics of it isn't very difficult once someone with intelligence sees the tools available - I've got the experience and insight of what CAN be done, but once others see it they can do it themselves.Bunnylump wrote:...Making a spreadsheet with formulae in it which sorts stuff and all kinds of fancy things. Well, it depends what you are doing, of course. But just because driving a car is fairly easy doesn't mean you don't need driving instructors...MBH wrote:the mechanics of it isn't very difficult once someone with intelligence sees the tools available - I've got the experience and insight of what CAN be done, but once others see it they can do it themselves.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
AFM..... losing a cat. One of our cats, Feanor, got run over today (we think he fell asleep under a car and didn't wake up in time). Poor Sigur has never had pets before so this was his first loss.
Thomas doesn't really understand, of course. We've just explained that he's had to go away and won't be coming back. Thomas played with Fea (unlike our other cat, Du, who steers well clear), so I suspect in a few days he'll wonder where he is, but we can explain again then.

That's sad news, Eirian.
PS I reckon I'd be more scary in a nun outfit than Scurra in a Nazi one, don't you?

Well yes, let's admit that this is exactly what it actually is! I am so sad about your lovely 'Fea', Eirian and Sigur - he was a very friendly pussy, despite being the terror of the neighbourhood catsgiraffe wrote:I thought perhaps it was Awful Feline Moment or something like that.
Sadly, these accidents can happen - but it is still a family bereavement in a very real sense and you are allowed to go into mourning.....

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Waiting in for internet man for the second day running (they "accidentally" cancelled it yesterday. Intermittent problem still not fixed. Grrrrrrrrrr... There couldn't possibly have been a less ideal day to have major internet issues - Mum's house is transferring today...
Anyway, I've gone and got loads of giant coolbags to try to transport the wedding cakes to the wedding tomorrow, in the predicted 29 degrees C and possible thunderstorms (which are a bit alarming because we are also taking K's electric piano for use OUTSIDE. ) I'm starting to get more than a little stressed...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Actually completed a puzzle OK - it was only the JubJub Snark sudoku grids - but that's more than I've done in ages.
Since it doesn't have a 'thread' I'll ask here.... Is there an 'answer' to this puzzle or just the pleasure of completing the grids?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
No, there's no secret answer to that one. At least, I don't think there is.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Well, yesterday, actually...
...bin to my niece's wedding. It was as South Farm, near Royston, which is absolutely beautiful. They got married outside it a pergola by a pond with water lilies and bright blue damsel flies flickering across it. The bride looked stunning. The cake worked out fine, despite the heat, which was phenomenal. Lots of people joined in for the "open mic" session in the garden, including the bride!!
They had also folded 100 origami cranes, which is supposed to bring good luck forever. They looked pretty cool.

The "wedding car" belonged to a friend, who actually uses this as a private car. He'd driven it from London, where he lives. This is the front of the farm. Those roses were beautifully scented!

........to the National Schools Symphony Orchestra concerts. Both girls had had a really good time. Kingsley's last one as she is no longer a schoolgirl, and Lally's last in the junior section. She's keen to audition for the seniors next year.
