:D Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I see the sun is shining in honour of my birthday, so we'll probably go and have the first picnic of the year!! :D :D I have already been very spoiled - got taken out for a really nice meal (would definitely recommend it if you are feeling a bit flush and happen to be in the area - I had an artichoke and chorizo salad with quail's eggs in a crisp tortilla "basket", followed by sea bass with samphire and pesto cream...

I have also had lots of lovely presents and cards, including a watch I can actually SEE, with jewels for numbers!! :D

Had a great day. Went to Whipsnade Common, had a walk through the Tree Cathedral http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/whipsna ... cathedral/, then on to Dunstable Downs http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/dunstab ... de-estate/ where we could look at the view and watch all the gliders taking off, then back along the Icknield way, and finished off with a picnic with sandwiches, birthday cake (made by Donald) and fizzy wine, whilst sitting in glorious sunshine!! :D
