Perhaps it's how to get from Hertfordshire to Coventry in an old banger with a purple bunny as passenger...

Driver, if you don't mind. I have been known to drive round in strange costumes (I seem to remember posting a pic of me as Little Red Riding Hood on DVP) - I drove to work like that.

I've never had the CAPS LOCK problem (being able to touch type) but one of the lads at work was doing this regularly ... He told me about SHIFT plus the F3 function key in Word - give it a try ;) (Yes! I know it's a stupid shortcut combination - but that's what it is :( )

I had one that used to stop dead for no reason. Undo the petrol cap and screw it back on again and away I went again.

I bought a Morris Oxford some years ago and set off (towing caravan) to Sussex. I had the engine dying on me three times before Oxford, three seperate garages fiddled with it, charged me outrageous sums and it wasn't until I pulled in for petrol that I heard the air rushing in when I took the cap off that I realised it was just too good a seal.
The best car I ever had was a Volvo I bought at a car auction for £200 ran it for three years, only thing that went wrong was a rear light bulb blowing and I sold it for £100 and regretted it with the next car (a SAAB) which was almost new and used to try and run me off the road if I didn't concentrate the whole time. This finally expired on a garage forecourt in a spectacular cloud of steam and as far as I know it is still there.
First car I ever owned was a Morris 8 (pre war vintage) again bought at an auction for I think £20.00 and the brakes only came on when the wheels were straight up, as the bearings had gone the wheels wobbled so braking was intermitant and hazardous. This was in 1955 and before the days of MOT's
There is no fun with the modern computor controlled cars.

 Yes, I know what you mean, Brian. Cars are really boring and amorphous, these days, aren't they?

My first car was a Vauxhall viva that I inherited from my grandad. It was 20 years old, with about 30,000 miles on the clock and for the first 6 months I thought it had no dashboard lights,(fun trying to read the speedo in the dark!) until one night, sat in a car park waiting for someone I was fiddling around under the steering wheel and found a switch.......after that I could tell how fast I was going.

I had a Hillman Imp that wouldn't start when the engine was warm - great fun when I stopped for petrol!

I'm just thinking about the car he had when we first got together. Why? What were you thinking I meant?

I had an old banger (ELF) which actually went well, unfortunately it had a small hole in the floor and everytime I went through a puddle it was like a whale spouting inside.
Please don't send anyone to Coventry dressed as bunny's red riding hoods, snails or whatever, I will deny all knowlege of you ;)

Isn't banging an old elf a bit akin to granny snatching?

Don't blame you. I'd deny all knowledge of myself if I could.
