I posted at about 00.30 this morning, but that's it. The end of the beginning

Yes I too was on last night, but not as late as you.

Trying now I have got a message saying 'http status 503 this application is not currently available' when I tried to get in by my usual 'favourite' of Recent Topics. I will badly miss Game 3 and the song titles, no excuse now to look up some weird and wonderful things on U Tube (Including one or two with overweight ladies and dancing poles!)

Is it my imagination or are we all much more serious over here than we were?

It's your imagination. ( See home remedies thread.)

It's with real sadness I've deleted the bookmark for DVP's forum. That being said, I like it better here.
We have fun, but there's also the puzzly focus, which, for me, was lacking on DVP because I only discovered the mag just as it was about to stop publication. Despite the raison d'etre of the DVP forum not continuing, I enjoyed the time spent with you all over there, but it does seem like it was all on "borrowed time". I doubt that many of you will understand the subtleties of what I'm trying to say here, because I find it hard to articulate, but I feel more like the "gel" here is the right consistency. I mourn DVP, but I'm happier for the PB phoenix to have risen. Anyone get what I'm trying to express?

Yes I think so!

I mourn DVP because I made some great friends through it. And without it I wouldn't be here. So thank goodness there is "here"

yes, I realised too late what a good thing I had missed out on by not getting into dvp - as my offspring kept telling me :?
I did not know that there was so much more to it than just a puzzle mag. So it has been great to discover all of you folks out there waiting to welcome in new comers like me (via the Runes....).
Let's make a real go of PB and ensure we keep it running :D

Oh. That was a sad moment. I know just what you mean, LAT, it was where I met all you lot, and as such, it has a very special place in my heart.

However, I also agree with SparkOut. Most of the people I had such fun with are now here (sadly with a few, much missed exceptions - e.g. Stufarq  ) AND we have puzzles, which we are all doing (or trying to do) at once.

Brian, we did start off a bit serious, but things are quickly degenerating into the usual uproar. Not only Looby's thread, but we've already had a very interesting insight into men's duelling techniques...

My only problem is that with so many people on here to talk to, I don't have time to look at any of the puzzles. Too busy chatting (or was that "cooing"? )

Gill and Scurra, you do realise that you're not allowed to shut this forum or stop giving us puzzles, don't you? If it starts to bankrupt you (or send you round the twist) we'll have to start up a co-operative! :D Excellent work, chaps!

I think this may be a good time to re-assure you all that Puzzlebrains is not in danger of fading for the forseeable future (unless we go round the twist and are incapable).

That's good to know, Gill. Well, what I want to know is what is it that makes you think you're not round the twist and incapable already? The rest of us are!

Speak for yourself, Gill. It all assumes I don't get lynched by, to pick a purely hypothetical example, a lavender hare...

[And one of the reasons we started off fairly sedately was partly because "over there" still existed. Didn't take long before we were dragged down too :)]
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Less of the "dragged down". I think it's an improvement.
Mind you, I had every intention of looking at a puzzle tonight and haven't opened the book yet. I've been on here all night. LORDY how sad am I?

Anyway HARE? :o Insult.

I remember Scurra saying he didn't want the word game but did he actually say no to the song titles?

Twas me who said no to game #1.

I shall explain. Numerous one word posts may cause us problems. It crashed on the Runes and had to be restarted on DVP.

No objections to song titles as such.
