Here is a link to a couple of films. They are the first two posts on this twitter account dated 4March and 5th March.

One of them is the Halley Base entry in the Antarctica Film Festival. Halley Base is where my nephew is at the moment. He is one of 13 people spending the winter (our summer ) there, and I think this is one of the activities that they are given to relieve the tedium of 135 days of darkness. The festival is a competition between all the bases in Antarctica. They are given a list of things to include in the film on a Friday and then have 48 hours to complete the film. This stops cheating as they can't pre record it. (Just a little warning for sensitive viewers it is probably an 18 certificate because of the amount of ketchup used :lol: )

The other one is called Fast Forward, and is a time lapse film of what they got up to form January 2013 to Feb 2014 and is quite interesting.

This one may or may not pass the time.
It's the webpage for a Norwegian tv broadcast called "Piip Show" which is a live broadcast of, well, a specially constructed bird feeder. The idea is that the birds (and, apparently squirrels!) will just come and go, and the cameras will film them.

well, at the moment it's a bit like watching paint dry...... maybe the action is best at certain times of day? Late night probably not the best time to try!

I found the Buzzfeed website by accident, but once you start looking at it other 'titles' catch your eye. The photo-realistic art work is amazing, but the one that got me onto the site was:

Don't know if this has been on before but a friend directed me to a site called bocsics2 supposed to be physics based games i got stuck on level 6.

I've just been wasting some time playing with yesterday's Google doodle.
With the help of a solving guide I even managed to finish it. :D It takes me back over 30 years to when I could do them in about 3 or 4 minutes. I may have to get the real thing out again. :lol:

OK so I won't make a habit of sharing things from FB but this did amuse me. Someone posted

A couple of days ago, my math teacher asked "Any questions?"
I asked "What is the meaning of life?"
She simply replied "The meaning of life is math"
Today, we realised that in the alphabet M is the 13th letter, A is the 1st letter, T is the 20th letter, H is the 8th letter. 13+1+20+8=42.

Good point. But I would counter that by asserting:

IT'S NOT MATH, IT'S MATHS! :lol:

Does that mean that the meaning of life must be 61 in the UK? :lol:

Well, they went off OK. And they had a toy giraffe on board to show them when they reached minus gravity. :lol: Oh the spectacular use of technology!!

Currently travelling at 130500 miles per hour. Can't really get my head round that! :lol:

Thanks! I looked at this thread with T minus 1 minute. Just watched the launch with Monkey. We both initially mistook the view from the launch control centre to be a set of 3 monitors on a desk. Not a massive set of 3 displays covering the whole wall of launch control! :lol:
