We might come up to have a look at some point in the summer holidays.

I read an article about the benches a few days ago and knowing that we were planning to visit Tate Modern thought the Riverside trail would be an ideal way to spend the afternoon. :D
They are really great. Don't forget to look at the backs too where you can as some of them are decorated too. (Possibly all of them but a couple weren't that accessible)

Here is the War Horse bench. I think it is really beautiful.

Walking, carrying, walking, sticking, walking, carrying, walking, sticking, sticking, packing, sticking, walking, carrying, packing, sticking, walking, carrying. Wet and hurting. Talking with some different people at times. Doing it again tomorrow and Sunday. Still hurting. Probably wet.

Sounds like hard work.
Is there some purpose to all the walking carrying sticking and packing that you are going to share with us?

I'm just the "hired labour" for Mrs S on her stand at the Kent Show this weekend. Ignore the word "hired"
But she worked even harder.

She is promoting her cruise travel agency business. It's actually sunny this afternoon. Tomorrow's forecast is heavy rain and probable thunderstorms though!

Well think of it this way, in miserable weather people may be more inclined to look favourably on the idea of a cruise!

Just dropped Lally off for the National Schools Symphony Orchestra course in Malvern. It's her first time in the main orchestra. She is sharing a bedroom with 5 other girls, four of whom seemed to already know each other and completely ignored Lally. I think they were just enjoying themselves rather than deliberately rude, so I left Lally there with instructions to introduce herself. She looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, but 10 minutes later when she came to get the bassoon from me she was much happier, and said one of the others is also a bassoonist, so they will have sectionals together. She has always been good at making friends, so I think she will be fine. Kingsley is very jealous as she is now too old after three years in NSSO.

What a wonderful experience for her - I'm sure she'll be really happy once they are playing. And she can be proud to equal her big sister!!

Possible emergency trip to Sussex (or two) needed before going away (hopefully) next Friday.

It's the uncertainty that is stressful.

If I knew I was needed down there I could arrange things here, so that the family can sort themselves out.

I know what you mean. I hate things like that when you are left up in the air! Hope you sort it all out OK.

Looks like I'm off the hook until after the weekend as MIL seems unlikely to be discharged from hospital until then. There is talk of SIL coming from France next week, so that is good too.
