That surprised me too. You were obviously a child bride, Kathlyn!

Maybe the 1968 one was more of a trial though...

I have found a website where you can advertise your old books and swap with other people for the price of the postage. It is called Readitswapit. I have advertises four or five books and have a taker for one already. The site is www.readitswapit.co.uk
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

An Autobiography by Currer Bell.
As suggested by Scurra. It's the 'original' mentioned while discussing A Fiery Feather.

Cool! Can I borrow it when you're done? Or could you give me the ISBN?Cenwulf wrote:An Autobiography by Currer Bell.
(Just had a thought - I'm sure I knew about all the books of this author and I don't remember that one - Is this your code name for another book?)
Re: I'm Busy Reading....
It's not a code name, it's just the other name for Jane Eyre. My copy has a page that is supposed to be the original front page / cover and it says Jane Eyre An Autobiography.
Re: I'm Busy Reading....
I did wonder if that was he meant, but I wasn't sure. My favourite book!

I should warn you that I sometimes speak in riddles. I may use anagrams, alternative titles or sub-titles.
For example, you may have read First Impressions, by A Lady - but not under that title!

Well I did wonder if you had recognised the derivation of the title of Second Thoughts in the magazine...

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Finished both my reading at the same time (as often happens) so now in the car I've got a CSI:Miami novel called Heat Wave, and at the house I'm reading a Graphic Novel called "Marvels" which has cleverly linked together LOADS of stories that I remember from my childhood and arranged to 'see' them all from the eyes of an ordinary human like us. The artwork is all new, and very good, and I probably only get about 5% of the fun they have with the crowd scenes - I'm sure there are a lot of famous faces that I can't be sure I recognise
As an example - in the wedding crowd of Reed Richards and Sue Storm of the Fantastic 4, there are some British faces in the crowd that I recognised along with our old friend Stan Lee making his usual cameo appearance

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
It follows a news photographer from when he knocked around with a young reporter called Jameson (who claimed that one day he'd own the Bugle), and Nicky Fury was a kid on the block all the way up to Gwen's death - hitting many of the high (and low) points in between. Just to give you an idea of the scope.
Very impressive.
