That's brilliant! I have had a few goes in the past at making quilts and it is really rewarding what can appear from just a few straightforward squares put into a pattern. Scurra will confirm that he has one of my efforts on his bed even now! This is partly a result of having spent years in the past making all our own clothes at home and thus having a lot of remnants in stock. We also have a duvet cover on our bed at home which is a collections of sentimental souvenirs or items made in the past - mainly dresses for myself and Rachel.....

I just saw it, and couldn't see what the fuss is about. I'm wondering if I saw an abridged version. :?

The Waitrose one, though is brilliant.

Glad you got to see the poppies Giraffe. And that you had a good weekend.

Lovely quilt Bunnylump, what a clever rabbit you are! :D

I reckon I've walked about 75 miles over the last week. Not to mention the flights, MTR, tram, ferry, bus and cable car journeys. Seen lots, done lots.
Today I have been trying to get over jetlag! Work tomorrow. :(

Far too many! Thing is, I'm a bit OCD, so once I start something I have to finish it. Hence being up until 4am this morning sewing!!! :o

I do think it's a lovely idea to use remnants, Wulfruna, especially if they have significance to you. Sadly, I have no storage room here so I don't tend to keep too much fabric "just in case."

LAT I'm hoping we'll get to see some of your photos, and hear a bit about your trip once you've caught up with yourself? :D

Being alarmed. One of my year 13 students has just told me that when he leaves after his A levels he is planning to take me...wait for it...PAINTBALLING as a thank you for all my help over the years. Very sweet of him, I'm sure, but that sounds like my idea of HELL!

Good fun Bunny. A great way to relieve stress AND get your own back if you are a good hider and an even better shot.

...and jolly good it was too. Well, that is to say, Jules and the Rhythm and Blues band were amazing, and so was Ruby Turner, unfortunately Jules chose to have a "special guest" for three numbers, and that turned out to be Marc Almond   whom I hate with an absolute passion. Still, apart from him, it was great. I'm all danced out now.

Ruby Turner did one of our University events, back when I was a student. She was great.

She's just got such an amazingly powerful voice. Proper full-on gusto and passion. It was strange, because before she appeared, Louise Marshall, a singer with a pretty good "soul" voice, did a number. But when she was singing alongside Ruby Turner, her voice appeared absolutely insignificant!!

The band has Gilson Lavis, who was an original Squeeze member playing (who was really impressive but had the occasional strange lapse of timing!!) and Jools' brother, Christopher Holland, playing organ. Some of the most impressive musicians were the saxophone and trombone players.

I have to admit that although I love to hear Jools Holland playing piano (and indeed, guitar) I don't much care for his singing voice, which I personally find a bit "reedy".

Trying to hold it together, while fitting bath and toilet. Basin still to be done, finish the tiling, do all the grouting but bath was installed. Mrs S had first go - there's a massive crack in the acrylic which means it leaked badly.
Now I'm not holding it together. That's not the end of the world, but there's only so much I can stand.

Oh, what a bummer. You really haven't been having much fun lately, have you? :( But don't forget it's a bath. And water. All fixable, just bl**dy annoying. Sending virtual calming vibes! :)

It would be worse if the toilet had leaked just after Mrs S tried it out. I hope you manage to sort it out.

The bath isn't a big deal, just coming on top of everything else I am not coping very well. The everything else really IS a big deal, to me and us.

Yes, I know. You've properly been through the mill, and it's really horrid. You don't deserve all these troubles, it's not fair. x
