They are so cool! :D I managed to talk myself out of making my cards this year (just.) I'm still mentally scarred from hand painting 100 acetate Christmas tree baubles for cards several years ago! My daughter is making some really pretty cards with buttons hanging on strings. How she finds the time I have no idea!

I'm itching to go back and have another go at painting ceramics. The place I went to did unglazed jugs, bowls, dishes, mugs and all sorts of other things which you could paint. Trouble is they work out quite expensive. Sadly, don't think I have room for a kiln here! I used to paint glass and ready glazed pottery, but the one I did the other week was far more satisfying.

And I am rubbish at knitting too, however my sister in law brings me a new knitted object every time we meet up for the pub quiz! We then base our team name on the "mascot." So last week we were the "Christmas Round Robins."

Oh that's very cute too. :D

I may come begging for some of these patterns when I've finished my ark animals.

I did a bit of tidying in the garden earlier and was watched by two robins. :D

The winged mice and robins are making me think about reaching for those needles - they are so cute.

.....and Maisie - love the display of your crafts .......hope you have a successful fair.

Beginning to feel I need to find more time going forwards to have some creative time!!

I love making things, I'm not very good at it but it does give a sense of achievement. I even like writing puzzles (for the same reason) even if nobody can ever make head nor tail of them.

I would love to be more creative. I can follow knitting patterns but I don't really feel that is being creative - I am no good at making things up.
I even have the occasional idea for a puzzle but they never really work out as they are always either far too easy or impossibly hard.

Actually, Mrs. T, this is absolutely NOT the case. I have seen quite a few of your puzzles, and they were fab. I admit I couldn't do the logic one, but I'm pretty sure that was me being thick rather than there being anything wrong with your puzzle!

I just like bodging things together to make something that I can call my own. It might not be great but then at least I've had fun doing it. Half the joy of it is working out how to make something and then sourcing all the weird and wonderful things I need to try to make it work. D just rolls his eyes when he sees me coming in with armfuls of unlikely looking things to spread around the living room and start cutting and sticking.

Don't go around calling people Mrs T. I thought you meant me! I wondered what I had done for a minute.

Well, one or the other of you needs to change your name. It's altogether too complicated otherwise.

Call me what you like!

I suppose I could divorce N and revert to my maiden name if that would help?

OK, that's clearly the answer. Do you suppose N will mind?

We've just taken on a new lady with the same forename as mine. How annoying is that? Especially as it's one of those fairly unusual names...

I once met someone with the same first and surname as me (well my maiden name), that threw me completely. We were the same age too within a couple of months.

I had a really weird conversation with youngest son today -

Son: Are melons green?
Me: Yes
Son: Are melons yellow?
Me: Yes
Son: I'm saving up for one
Me: One what?
Son: A melon
Me: Why?
Son: Because I like them
Me: Er, OK
Son: Are they bitter?
Me: What, melons? No
Son: OK

Then, when talking to my mum about her weekend away in Blackpool, she was describing the hotel she stayed in - "it was lovely victorian Art Deco around the 50's and 60's". :?

 Well, if he's made happy with a melon, I do hope Father Christmas will manage to fit one into his stocking!

I've bin to the school Christmas concert (singing in the choir.) Pretty hopeless because we had the lights turned off and had to hold candles, and I could therefore not read the music or the words. Ho hum. We live and learn. Another hobby bites the dust.

Just wondering....... melons/lemons???? (Mostly yellow but could be green..... certainly bitter, but still likeable!)
Either he is genuinely confused or is having you on, to see if you spot the similarity :?

 Knowing him, it could be any of those. But he's adamant it's melons. :?

Sounds like you had two weird conversations in one day.
