This is Luna, K's kitty, who thinks she is a Christmas tree decoration.

That's exactly what I said to K. I think she's going to make it into one for next year.

She keeps coming home from work to find the kitten has taken on the challenge of removing every single Christmas decoration and spreading them all round the house.

I'm impressed with all these people who have their trees up and decorated. We only managed to go out to buy our tree today. Hopefully we will get it installed and decorated at the weekend.

Oh, I haven't even got a tree yet. It's ages until Christmas, isn't it?

No it's definitely too early - two weeks in advance is plenty! Otherwise they start dropping needles by Christmas and are definitely struggling by January. I do wish people wouldn't fall into the trap of thinking that you have to start Christmas earlier and earlier every year. It is all a result of the commercial interests of shops trying to drag us inside to spend our money with them - long before we really need to be preparing.
Coming back to the original topic - we have a very similar picture of Scurra's cat sitting under our Christmas tree last year and clearly eyeing up the tinsel and balls! Must dig it out......

But today is two weeks in advance.
And I couldn't have gone out to buy today, nor for the next few days.
We made the mistake one year of leaving buying the tree until about a week before Christmas only to find a very poor selection available. We were told that after early December they don't get fresh deliveries of trees so inevitably the choice diminishes the later you leave it. So now we buy about 2 weeks before and leave it outside in a bucket of water until we want to bring it in to decorate. The last few years they have lasted well until 6th January anyway with only minimum needle drop - even if the cats drink more of the water than the tree does!!

We bought ours today and have it sat outside waiting for the world to stop spinning so that we can get the decorations out and bring it in. Not that I have room to put a Christmas tree up but hey ho.

Is the tortoise going to be the fairy on top of the tree?

That would make an interesting picture for a Christmas card

No but I'd quite like to stick a Christmas tree up his rear end!!

He's still awake and currently residing in my kitchen.

I take it you aren't planning to get the decorations out then? (when does the world stop spinning?)

I thought my new bathroom was lacking something. I thought it was a toilet roll holder, but now I can see it is a cat! In fact if I could get it to stand with it's tail upright it could do both jobs.

Love the thought of persuading a cat to stand to order.
Sweet pic Bunnylump.
