My niece, when asked what she wanted for her birthday breakfast, replied with "strawberries grapes and lemons". She's three, with a vocabulary most 6-year-olds would be proud of, but for some reason she has just never got that one sorted out!

Think I might have found the perfect present for someone...

Still haven't stopped laughing.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

My nine month wait is at last over and I have been able to give my little boy a hug. :D

That's brilliant!

My big girl is home, and my little boy comes home tomorrow. I have spent all day in the car, but I got the easy journey. Poor S has set off for Scotland after work. :-(

My little boy is here tomorrow (but only for one day as it's his friend's birthday.) Fortunately he is self sufficient in travel arrangements (most of the time!) And my little girl has flu. Poor love, she's normally terrifyingly healthy, but she's had to have the entire week off work. :o

Not sure
But at the moment it doesn't feel much different. He slept for about 4 hours, spent another couple of hours doing stuff in his bedroom and has now set off for a party in London. He has another to go to tomorrow night so the earliest we will see him again is Sunday and he is talking about possibly staying up with a friend on Sunday night to watch an NFL match.

Glad you collected Kingsley OK Giraffe and hope the men have a good journey.

Been on a mission to try to instil some Festive feeling today. Went out into the woods and came home with holly, ivy, yew etc to decorate the bannisters (and quite possibly finish off any guests, as they are all poisonous.) All installed, as are the Christmas tree and vases of pussy willow. Cat has been "helping."

.....getting plastered! Unfortunately this was for a broken leg in Exeter hospital A&E :o :(
We had decided to make the most of a gorgeous sunny day by going up on Dartmoor to a couple of our favourite places. But it was wetter underfoot than expected and there was one patch of water we couldn't avoid - and down I went! I thought I had just twisted my ankle, and was able to hobble back down to the car, which luckily was only just over 100 yards away. But when we checked at our local hospital back home, which has a drop-in small injuries unit, they sent me straight up to A&E for an x-ray and sure enough, there was a fracture just above the ankle joint. Hmmm.... So here I am, immobile for at least a week, but hopefully back with limited activity in time for Christmas :? :?:
(So maybe we won't have to rely on Scurra cooking the turkey!!! :o  )

No, not so painful as long as I keep still - just uncomfortable and horribly inconvenient.

Ow! Oh dear. I hope you mend well and soon, and it's not too troublesome over the Christmas period

Oh dear, poor you Wulfruna! Hope it heals well. Sounds like a good excuse to put your feet up and get others to do the work! ;)

Oh no! What a nightmare, Wulfruna! Hope it mends quickly. Scurra, this is your chance to repay your mother for all those years of care and stress. Get cooking!

Thanks for all the good wishes :)
They were hopeful that I may have slightly better mobility next week after the heavy plaster cast is replaced with a lighter-weight synthetic support, but I will still not be able to put weight on it for at least a couple of weeks and the total healing time is 6 weeks! They have given me a zimmer frame (rather than crutches) to lean on when I need to move around (to go to the loo!!), which helps, but it is quite a strain having to hop around on the "good" leg every time! Still, at least I am not bed-bound which would probably have been the case in the past. And we have a lovely big soft sofa in the living room which I am able to use as a temporary bed to save having to get upstairs.
Hmmmm,. .... now if only I had a nice set of puzzles to keep me occupied ;) :D
