Son is fine. Thanks all. Dented pride, and yes, scarred for life without a doubt- but still here to tell the tale which is the important bit.

OH just on his way back to our famous "Jimmy's" for the 3rd time today. If anyone ever suggests going there- go anywhere else instead- trust me. Carp doesn't come close.

Golly Gill, not the way you want your offspring to make the news! Glad he is safe and well and hope he recovers soon.

I'm getting used to this and becoming quite resigned to expecting the unexpected.

Daughter robbed at gunpoint.

Son burgled by masked man.

Same son sets house on fire and tries to be macho man.

I may sound a bit flippant, but right now I think it's the only way to deal with it. Not bad going in 18 months is it?

:o Coo, crikey! That was a lucky escape. It could have been SO much worse when you come to think of it. :?

I hope he makes a speedy recovery, from both the burns and the thick ear you give him when he gets home for being such a twit!

Does it ever get easier being a parent?

Trying to ride my birthday bicycle!!!

Not doing too badly as it's about 15 years since I was last on one. I'm saving the big fall off for 5 weeks..............That should take me nicely to my son's birthday and he can come and tend to my every need

Oh wow. A birthday bicycle! Have lots of fun on it - but do take care too - it's the other idiots you have to watch out for, sadly. I think it's an excellent plan to get back at your son. Even if you don't really fall off (and I hope you don't) you should put on some spectacular "sympathy bandages" and make him slave over you all day! :D

 What were you having Lanced?

...having my dinner made for me by my daughter, and going for a walk with my son - AND HE DIDN'T DISOWN ME! :D

Aww!

This isn't today, but last night I went to see Anton and Erin dancing at Sheffield. You'll have to use your imaginations here, but I was this close to them!!!! (third row)

I was very star-struck when they came on! Amazing show, fantastic band, fantastic music (mostly big-band stuff), amazing dancers, and extremely funny too. Brilliant night out. If it comes near you, I strongly recommend it!!!

I must have walked about 8 miles today too! With a massive rucksack (hippo) and up and down hills and valleys.
