Re: Happy Birthday
No, it's a really good puzzle, it's just it takes a long time to find them all. I was being facetious. I thought Jim might be preferring to spend his birthday eating cake!

Happy Birthday Jimmy.
I went to a paintball birthday party today for a friend of mine and now have lots of bruises.

How do you fancy that as a suggestion Jim?

I fancy that
Teams of PuzzleBrainers decoding clues around a 'site' and shooting each other at the same time. Excellent Add a couple of mazes into the equation and it's the perfect 'meet'.
(What out for those low-angled shots from the Fraggle)

BTDT. Although I ran it at LaserQuest because Paintballing is amazingly painful.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Re: Happy Birthday
The point I was making is that something like LaserQuest is just as much fun, without needing the "pain" bit.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Re: Happy Birthday
What's fun about running around in a hot smelly dark building shooting people? Coming to that I can't really see the attraction of paintballing. When we had snow, we went out for a walk and had a fantastic snowball fight in a corn field which is next to a wood where they do paintballing. We could hear them all shouting and shooting each other. We had just as much fun, except it was FREE and SO much easier to clean up afterwards!
I've never heard BTDT before. I like that.

No idea. What is fun about that? Although you see to have more knowledge of this subject than you are letting onBunnylump wrote:What's fun about running around in a hot smelly dark building shooting people?
You can do LaserQuest games outdoors perfectly easily you know. And I'll see your "easy to clear up" and raise you "no clearing up at all" (You do win on the cost of equipment, but then again you only get to do it at the whim of the weather, which is basically once every five years or so...)

Re: Happy Birthday
True.
I only know what laserquest is because I used to deliver my son there for birthday parties when he was younger. They all used to come out all sweaty and hyperactive, and then wanted to eat repulsive beefburgers and bright blue drinks from the cafe. By the time they got home they were hard to scrape off the ceiling. (The kids that is,not the beefburgers).
Did you have bright blue drinks too, Scurra?

Re: Happy Birthday
I've done the LaserQuest thing once (as an adult of course - the didn't have such things is the old days) - it does give an amazing adreneline boost to be creeping up on someone knowing that someone else may be about to 'shoot' you.
Not keen on the idea of ANY food or drink that is blue but I do remember that I ached for 3 days after the game. Great exercise

Re: Happy Birthday
Always. Don't see what that's got to do with paintballing/LaserQuest thoughBunnylump wrote:Did you have bright blue drinks too, Scurra?
(I don't like the indoor LaserQuest environments at all - but then again I don't like discos, which they are designed to resemble in terms of atmosphere - only with a maze constructed all over the dancefloor...)

Re: Happy Birthday
Sorry - from the perspective of having done paintballing at my "cousin-in-law's" stag event, and joining in Laserquest at my daughter's friend's birthday party, I think they're both quite "interesting" and "invigourating" as a one-off, but not something I'd be particularly interested in on a regular basis. Shooting the groom-to-be in the goggles from 300 yards was quite a fluke though - it had us rolling about for a while as he stood up and waved "hit acknowledgement" and tried to wipe the goggles to be able to see.
