I remember one Easter when my daughter lost a tooth on Good Friday and another on Easter Monday. So I was a tooth fairy, an Easter bunny and then tooth fairy again within 4 days. I had a real identity crisis! :D

Was he excited?

Oh, gosh, you're at that stage of teeth falling out - that brings back memories of horrid children continuously fiddling with loose teeth in an effort to get them to come out! How much does the tooth fairy have to cough up these days?

My daughter still has baby teeth. She's 40. I think she lost her first tooth around age 12.

So, my little neice was born this morning, 10 days late, but all doing well and coming home tonight.

The funny thing is, we have a family friend who was due to give birth one day after my sister, but her little boy arrived at new year, very very premature obviously. I've just found out that he came home today too. That's just made a very happy day into an incredibly special day!!! :D

The train tickets for half term have been booked for weeks! I might get a cuddle sooner if they come up here for a visit, but otherwise I'll just have to make do with Skype.

....to see Eye in the Sky tonight. Really enjoyed the film, one of the best I have seen for a while.

...Away with my girl friends to the Peak District. And yes, there was snow AND hail! Lovely area though, despite the weather and the mud!

We even had a bit of hail down here but mostly it wasn't too bad.
Any tales about what you got up to?

Nothing that spectacular, really. Walked along the Sett Valley Walk only to find that part of it was shut - so naturally we climbed over the walls, round the fence and hoped that the rock falls didn't actually fall... We also walked (or rather slid) the very first bit of the Pennine Way, and tried to get the mountain rescue man who was parked at the beginning to give us a lift back... Called in at Buxton, Bakewell and Lichfield on our way back.

All very sedate and middle aged, really!

 Wait until you're old like me!

We stayed a night in Lichfield on our way back from the Lake District a couple of years ago. I thought it was a really attractive city.

Having a glorious time exploring North Devon (as a change from the South coast) Yesterday we crossed Exmoor and ended up at Ilfracombe where we are staying until the weekend. Today has seen warm sunshine and blue skies which looks set to continue..... Seems amazing that there is such a contrast between north and south at the moment.
We have been driving along country lanes with verges aglow with primroses, violets and masses of bluebells. Wonderful!

Aaah, Exmoor - that's where my Mum was from, where my Grampy and Nanny lived and where my cousin still lives, in Kentisbury, not that far from Ilfracombe. The hedgerows are SO splendid there at this time of year, the moors are beautifully bleak and the buzzards wheel around, mewing, in the enormous sky. A wonderful place indeed.

I can't believe what a difference 5 days can make. On Friday, I was in the snow, and so cold at night that I had to wear my dressing gown in bed. Today I have been in the garden in my shorts and walking in the bluebells in Ashridge in a vest top. :o
