Re: Telly
Is it possible she may wash her hands 'off screen'? Why don't you write in and complain? It's a serious point that is worth raising.
On the subject of TV, something that may well not be everybody's cup of tea, but at 9.00pm tonight on BBC2 an old friend of mine is playing King Philip ii of Spain. I haven't seen him for quite a few years so I'm looking forward to watching him tonight.

Re: Telly
Seriously, you just watch Saturday Kitchen, which is filmed live. I'd say that at least 60% of the featured chefs don't routinely wash their hands after preparing meat. You can tell that the BBC have had flack about it already because James Martin is constantly being told in his ear to remind them to do so. It's enough to put you off eating in restaurants altogether! Admittedly, the clip of Nigella wasn't a live one, so I suppose it's possible that they edited out her hand-washing. But it certainly didn't look like that.

I just watched that programme about the Halley Science Station on Antarctica and thought of your nephew, Giraffe! It was really interesting.

I'd forgotten how frustrating the Crystal Maze was when you could see what needs to be done and the contestants weren't getting it!
Re: Telly
That Crystal Maze game is based not very far away from me. It's a wonderfully anonymous office front that doesn't advertise itself outside at all! They are also almost fully booked for the next six months or so. (I see they've now got a Manchester venue.)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Re: Telly
I didn't realise that you could actually go there. Have you been?
Re: Telly
No. I'd like to go one day though. And it looks as though they are doing well enough that they can run some more sessions. In general, I understand that they try to run four teams simultaneously, so that they each go through the zones in a different order, and apparently everyone does the Dome at the end (as separate teams) so you can watch how the other teams get on!

It was a real nostalgia trip watching this - we were totally hooked on it back then! And i agree - it's that knuckle-biting bit when they just don't get what is going on. And the way they all shout ideas at the same time and so the right one can't be heard...... But such good fun

Just watching the Sky at Night. OMG - what can I say? Neil deGrasse Tyson. What a voice! I think I want to have his babies.

Re: Telly
I hasten to add, what he was saying was also extremely interesting. But I did comment to D what a lovely voice this man had, and D agreed! Sounded like deep, rich, melted chocolate.
