......out for a walk around the Exe estuary RSPB reserve - in glorious sunshine and wonderful views!! :D Can't believe we had such an unexpectedly beautiful day when the rest of the country seems to be in the depths of winter :? :o Though admittedly the wind was biting cold and we were all well wrapped up......

No snow here. :( Well, there was a light sprinkling last night, but it's all gone.

Our grass is still white (ish) but it has all gone from the paths. It did snow again this morning but didn't really settle and then the sun came out and the sky turned blue. But it was pretty cold and the wind was chilly.

We've been having a lot of trouble with our BT Youview box and have had to re-boot it quite often in the last few months. Eventually last Friday we couldn't get it to switch on at all so N went to an online BT chat line to report it. After various questions etc the chap admitted that it was broken and said he would order a replacement for us. N asked how long that would take "oh it will only take me a couple of minutes to order it sir"
But it arrived first thing this morning so not bad at all. Just a bit longer than two minutes. :D

And best of all, it was fairly simple to set up so hopefully we can now catch up on the programmes we missed before we run out of their availability.

Cor, icy here today! Dibble and his girlfriend stayed last night, and as they live in London, they aren't used to things like scraping thick ice off the car. She only had her Oyster card to clear the windscreen!

Went for a nice walk today through Watership Down country. We even went past Nuthanger Farm mentioned in the book

And we also saw a Hazel Cottage. :D But no Bigwig, Fiver, Pipkin or General Woundwort.

Much better already. I went for a walk locally today in similar blue skies but without such picturesque scenery! Cold and icy tonight though when walking back from a meal out.

This weekend I finished lots of things.
A photobook I've been creating off and on for about a year.
A baby cardigan I've been knitting for about 3 weeks.
A jigsaw I was given for Christmas.
And the book I was reading.

Time for some new activities now!

How wonderfully satisfying!

I've been FINALLY starting to decorate the small bedroom - which has been"undecorated" (as in my stupid son rubbed all the paintwork down and then never repainted it  ) for the past five years. Gill will vouch for this as she stayed in it in its undecorated state years ago. Mind you, since then we've removed a boiler and hot water tank from it, and also a horrible built in cupboard, a version of which has been there since we moved in 32 years ago. We discovered some very interesting 1940s wallpaper underneath it all! Lots still to do though, D is currently putting in new sockets and plastering big holes in the walls before I can get stripping at last! Needless to say, this means he is like a bear with a sore head at the moment...

 Oh, trust me, THAT would not be on the agenda! After the age of 50 no flesh should be visible during daylight hours!

I suppose that what you choose to do after the watershed is no business of ours anyway.
